Order Packing & Check Out / Check Out Options / MSN Grocery Pack - MSN Grocery Pack [CHK100]
The Shipping Module will only start after checkout, even though a ‘blank’ Waybill can be created before the time. WMS has various checkout processes, but we will only focus on the MSN Grocery Pack Check Out for the Shipping process.

Try it!
Once ready to dispatch a pick slip (ship to the client), you must create a Shipping TrackID first. This is done on the MSN Grocery Pack screen.
From the Main Menu, you can browse to Order Packing & Check Out / Check Out Options / MSN Grocery Pack
The MSN Grocery Pack screen will open
On this screen there is the option to create a Shipping TrackID
These Shipping TrackIDs are small 4x2.5 sized labels that can be printed as you process the MSN Grocery Pack and physically apply it to the packed pallets.
Info |
---|
Note: When printing to a physical printer you must ensure that the System Settings is configured correctly. The SHIPPING_PALLETIZATION setting under Settings / Printers on the Ribbon Bar must point to the physical printer. For more information, refer to Configure Printers |
Before processing the checkout, disable the printing of a Carton Label. Only Shipping TrackID labels are required, and we don’t need to print individual carton labels
Uncheck the Print Carton check box. This is in the top right-hand corner of the screen
Info |
---|
Note: The Print Carton check box will remain unchecked for all Pick Slips until you close the MSN Grocery Pack window. If you open the window again it will be checked again. Take note of this if you want to move on to the next Pick Slip and that Pick Slip is for LTL. The check box must then be unchecked again. |
Select the Open Shipping TrackID button to create a new, empty Shipping TrackID to start using. This is for the pallet to pack the checked-out stock on
The Printer pop will appear
Select Apply
A label will print that can be attached to the pallet you are packing
Info |
---|
This TrackID will be a Shipping TrackID Type |
The Shipping TrackID number will also appear on the screen for information purposes.
This label will be replaced on the pallet with a more detailed shipping label at the end of the Shipping process that contain the customer and waybill information.
To pack out the stock on the pick slip onto the Shipping TrackID you must use the Standard Pack screen. This is discussed in detail in the Fasttrack WMS MSN Grocery Checkout LTL Orders
Select the Standard Packs button at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen
A pop-up window will appear where you can see how many full boxes the software calculates you must pack
You can change the No of Labels field, depending on how many cartons you want to pack on the current shipment pallet. This is just to tell the software that is the number of cartons packed on a single pallet
Info |
---|
Note: If you didn’t uncheck the Print Carton check box earlier, then the total number of labels in the No of Labels field will print. As we’ve unchecked it – the software just records the number of cartons to be packed on a single pallet and it is not printing the labels. |
Info |
---|
Note: As we’re dealing with larger quantities per stock code the action of printing the pallet label might take longer due to the software recording the number of cartons to be packed on a single pallet, even though the actual carton labels are not printing. |
Selecting the Print link on the Pack Size Boxing data grid to update the number of boxes (based on the value entered in No. of Labels field) to be packed onto the shipping pallet for that stock code
The box number for each stock code will be updated and displayed in the Box Range column
Select the Close button (this will indicate that the pallet is full, and you will have to create another Shipping TrackID)
If you close the Pack Size Boxing screen, the MSN Grocery Pack screen will update, and the number of labels printed will show in the Completed Cartons list on the left-hand side of the screen
To create a second Shipping TrackID, select on the Shipping TrackID button again.
A pop-up message will appear, stating that the previous Shipping TrackID will close and a new one will be created to continue loading stock on a second pallet. Select Yes
Follow the process again, by selecting the Standard Packs button, and start adding boxes (based on the value entered in No. of Labels field) to be packed onto the second shipping pallet for that stock code
Once all stock is added to a shipping pallet(s) a pop-up will appear indicating that all stock has been loaded.
When the entire order is packed onto Shipping TrackIDs, a pop-up will appear prompting you to generate an Invoice or Dispatch Note
Select Close
Info |
---|
Note: For small parcel orders for which you do NOT want to use the Shipping module, the user would simply select to create the Dispatch Note or Invoice, but for pick slips for which you DO want to use the Shipping module, the user should click CLOSE on this pop-up and manage the dispatching of the order in the Shipping module, to ensure that all the pallets are in the correct state (i.e. LOADED) in order to finalize the shipment. |

Note: If you are only running ALL your stock through LTL shipments, then you can disable the Invoice Dialog prompt completely. This can be done by updating the Warehouse Settings. On the Ribbon bar go to Settings / Warehouse Settings / MSN_GROCERY_PACK Select the applicable Warehouse. Use the filter to easily locate the MSN_GROCERY_PACK setting. Locate the DISPLAY_INVOICE/DISPATCH_PROMPT setting. Update this to N(o) However, if some of your shipments are small parcel shipments that will not be processed through the Shipping module, and you want to dispatch them at the end of the checkout process, you will have to leave this pop-up enabled. Select Apply to save your changes. |
Wherever you see the scripting icon, it indicates that the screen can be customized with a VBScript. The Invoice Dialog pop-up can therefore be scripted to force the user to click Cancel if the order has any Shipping TrackIDs assigned to it. For more information, refer to How to customize pop-up Prompt using VBScript functionality.
Next, the software defaulted to printing a Packing List.
The Packing List contains a summary page first, and then shows the details of all the boxes and stock codes on the subsequent pages

Note: The printing of this document can be suppressed by updating the Warehouse Settings. On the Ribbon bar go to Settings / Warehouse Settings / MSN_GROCERY_PACK Select the applicable Warehouse. Use the filter to easily locate the MSN_GROCERY_PACK setting. Locate the MSN_SUPPRESS_PACKINGLIST_PRINTOUT setting. Update this to Y(es) As this is an useful document for the Shipping process we do not advice to suppress this setting. Select Apply to save your changes. |
At this stage the MSN Grocery transaction is complete, and all items have been packed on to a Shipping TrackID
Info |
---|
Note: The Shipping TrackID tab on the Waybill/BOL Maintenance screen will also be updated with the new Shipping TrackID and the Picking Slip Status, under the Picking Slips tab, will be updated to SHIPPING. |
