The directed replenishment module is far more complex than the single-step mode Simple Replenishment module. This module starts with a custom-built calculation, which is dropped into the core DATASCOPE WMS. As such, the actual rules to generate replenishment orders are endless. The user can easily quickly build advanced replenishment calculations by selecting various filters by warehouse, warehouse area, or stock code product class. Typically, you would move full cartons or bins to replenish pickface pick face bins.

Much like the Sales order wave releasing screen, a review screen allows the replenishment manager to review replenishment lines in logical groupings and release these in waves.

First, all lines are Auto Allocated. this auto-allocated. This process applies the preset stock allocation rules to find the most optimal stock to reserve. Once the lines have reserved stock from the bulk locations, the screen can be filtered by logical grouping before releasing in waves.

For example, the manager may sort the replenishment orders by bulk bin Area, Zone, or even Aisle and then release multiple picking slips for each grouping. So, if the release were done at the Aisle level, we would end up with a separate picking slip by Aisle.

This picking process applies full stock reservation logic, which manages stock availability in the bulk bin locations and ensures that the stock is not taken for a customer or another replenishment order.

Picked replenishment stock is moved to the destination area (Warehouse or pick face), and the standard replenishment put away is used to scan the stock into the destination bins.

To start the process the user can easily build advanced replenishment calculations by selecting various filters that are different by warehouse or warehouse area or stock code product class.

  • Due to the advanced Replenishment calculations, multiple orders can be generated daily. To break these hundreds of orders down into more logical pick slips, example to only generate pick slips for a specific Area or Zone, and to have a manageable number of orders to be picked using the HTML5 scanner-based application (Replenishment Picking), the user can set these various filters.

  • These filters can be set according to various scenarios. These will all depend on how the warehouse operates. Some scenarios are listed below:

o   You may review all replenishment order and then sort them by bulk warehouse bin zones. You could then release a separate picking slip per zone or Aisle in a zone.

o   In another scenario, you may want to release the picking slips by pick face zone. Here you will be less efficient when picking in the bulk area, but your replenishment order will be easy to put away into the pick face.

o   Yet another scenario would be to generate a replenishment by bulk warehouse zone to optimize the bulk picking and then release a second replenishment order from the staging area to the pick face where the pick is grouped by pick face zone.

  • The filters will be selected depending on how the warehouse manage replenishments and therefore various scenarios are possible.

Info

  • This can be done multiple times and release replenishments in waves.

Info

Note: When printing to a physical printer you must ensure that the System Settings is configured correctly and that the physical label printer setting is printing to a 4X2.5-inch label.

The REPLENISHMENT setting under Settings / Printers on the Ribbon Bar must point to the physical printer. For more information refer to Configure Printers

  • A pick slip number will also appear on the screen.

The release of replenishment picking slips works in the same way as all picking in the DATASCOPE WMS software in that the picking slip is assigned to a picker and all detail is tracked including what was picked from where to where at what time by whom.

View and track the pick slip – Pick Slip Review screen.

On the Pick Slip Review screen, the pick slip will have a status of PRINTED and the pickers can start picking the stock on the floor by using the HTML5 scanner-based screen – Replenishment Picking.
