Reference - Shipping / Setup / Trucks - Trucks [SHP001]

When using the Shipping module, Trucks must also be set up. These are the physical Trucks that will transport the goods.

Note: Generally, you should get the Truck detail from the shipping carrier you will be using, but if no detail is supplied, then a generic name can be added, for example, UPS Truck1 or FedEx Truck1. Trucks must, however, be created, as this is required when creating a new Waybill/BOL.

  • From the Main Menu, you can browse to Shipping / Setup / Trucks

  • Add your first Truck by clicking in the field to the right of the star under VRN (Vehicle Registration Number). Here you can specify unique VRNs (or add a generic name, i.e., UPS Truck1), including the Maximum Mass, Volume, GVM, and Capacity for each.

Note: If you don’t have the Maximum Mass, Volume, GVM, and Capacity you can just leave it blank.

  • Select Save to save your new Trucks.

  • Lastly, the Shippers must be created.
