Use this screen in preparation for a stock take, specifically for a closed pallet count. This report will display every pallet that must be counted and when a stock take or cycle count was last done. The report also includes the last transactions on the pallet.

The concept is that if the last movement on a pallet was a cycle count or the pallet quantity now matches the original pallet quantity, then the pallet quantity is accurate. This means the pallet can be wrapped up and counted in a ‘closed pallet stock take’ to confirm it is in the recorded bin and not have to be opened up and recount all the stock on the pallets. Closed pallet stock takes significantly faster than open pallet stock for this reason, but usually only possible on slower-moving stock or stock in bulk bins.

A warehouse manager may typically schedule a cycle count for all the slow-moving stock before the actual stock count weekend. The last transaction on the TrackID will be a Cycle Count, and therefore the pallets can be counted as ‘closed’ pallets, which will drastically speed up the stock take.
