The module is particularly useful in Job manufacturing plants where the product is issued to a job in bulk, used, and returned to stock. Some examples are as follows:
In a paper processing plant, large rolls of paper are picked and issued to a job on a machine. The pick may be of a formal picking slip, or a user could have performed a job issue on the scanner when the next roll was required on the machine. At the end of the machine run, a part roll will almost always be left on the machine that needs to be returned. This roll can be placed onto a job return station weigh scale, and the software will process the required return off the job. Based on your settings, you can return the stock to the original TrackId, or print a new TrackID.
In a chemical plant drums of product are issued to jobs. As in the case of the example above a time will come where a part drum will need to be returned to be stored. These drums can be moved to the Job return station where they are weighed and a job return is posted.
In environments such as the examples above, these part rolls or part drums can be stored in a separate warehouse and your job reservation rule can be coded to always reserve the part rolls or drums before reserving new rolls or drums. This allows a plant to minimize part Tracking IDs in inventory.
