Thank you for your understanding and patienceThis module allows users to easily open multiple jobs for a single stock code. So rather than raising one job for ten thousand products, we can use this module to raise ten jobs, each containing one thousand components quickly.

This is typically used by manufacturing companies involved in blending batches of products.

In most blending operations, a large job must be split into many jobs limited to the size of the blending machinery. So if a job is required for ten tons of product, but the blender can only hold two tons, then the operator would need to open 5 x 2-ton jobs. This module allows an operator to select a stock code and enter many batches and batch sizes to be created. This will open these jobs in SYSPRO in non-confirmed status.

This functionality is very useful in blending operations. The overall blending time can be reduced on large batches if a “pre-blend or premix” is first blended with key concentrate ingredients. Then this “concentrated” blend is added to each bland batch later as a kit-issue item.

Example:

We want to blend 10 tons of product A. Due to the size of the blender, we will raise five 2-ton jobs and a 6th job for 523kgs of premix. The full set of jobs is released into picking slips in DATASCOPE WMS and released to the floor. The premix is picked first and blended. While this is being blended the other 5 blend jobs are picked. At the time of blending the five 2-ton jobs the premix is split equally and added to each 2-ton mix. The actual blend time of each 2-ton blend reduced dramatically.

This mode of running blend jobs requires careful setup of the BOM (Bills of Materials).

FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW

This application is designed for use by manufacturing companies involved in blending batches of product.

In most blending operations a large job needs to be split into many jobs limited to the size of the blending machinery. So if a job is required for ten tons of product but the blender can only hold two tons, then the operator would need to open 5 x 2 ton jobs. This program allows an operator to select a stock code and enter a number of batches and batch sizes to create. This will open these jobs in SYSPRO in non-confirmed status.

This functionality is very useful in blending operations as the overall blending time can be reduced on large batches if a “pre-blend or premix” is first blended with key concentrate ingredients and then this “concentrated” blend added to each bland batch later as a kit issue item.

So a typical example may be as follows:
We want to blend 10 tons of product A. Due to the size of the blender we will raise 5 x 2 ton jobs and a 6th job for 523kgs of premix. The full set of jobs is released into picking slips in DATASCOPE WMS and released to the floor. The premix is picked first and blended. While this is being blended the other 5 blend jobs are picked. At the time of blending the five 2 ton jobs the premix is split equally and added to each 2 ton mix. The actual blend time of each 2 ton blend reduced dramatically.

This mode of running blend jobs requires careful setup of the bills of materials.

STANDARD PROCESS

  • Enter the stock code to be made, blend size, number of blends

  • Total Batch size is calculated

  • Specify job priority

  • Click Load details – raw materials that are MADE IN items will load

  • Click create jobs. This will create the following in SYSPRO:

o Jobs specified for the main finished product (Total jobs will be the number of batches)
o A job for the premix(s) (made in components) to satisfy the demand from the jobs above

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Jobs can be created in a confirmed or non-confirmed state in SYSPRO depending on the SYSPRO setup
