Work in Progress / WIP Release / Job Stock Code Replace [WIP010]
This DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS module quickly replaces an existing component on a single or multiple SYSPRO Jobs with a suitable alternative component. This is typically used when a factory component can easily be replaced without compromising the end result of the Job. Replacing a component might be required due to QTY or quality problems that prevent the use of the original component.
Some rules, however, do apply to follow this process:
This module does not allow editing QTYs; only the stock code can be changed. It also does not affect the parent component's Bill of Material (BOM) but only the individual stock code allocations on the Job.
The module only displays and allows edits to Unconfirmed SYSPRO Jobs.
The standard SYSPRO validations apply; therefore, stock codes cannot be replaced on Jobs if the stock code line is complete or if the warehouse record of the original line does not exist against the new stock code replacement.

How to replace a stock code with a suitable alternative stock code
Info |
---|
Note: This module can only be done on the PC screen. No HTML5 mobile screen is available. |
From the Main Menu, browse to Work in Progress / WIP Release / Job Stock Code Replace.
The Job Stock Code Replace screen will open.
To replace a stock code for all eligible unconfirmed SYSPRO Jobs, start by entering the existing stock code in the Current Stock Code field.
If you tab off the field, the Description for that stock code will load automatically.
Enter the replacement stock code in the Replacement Stock Code field.
Select the Query Jobs button. This will load all the unconfirmed SYSPRO Jobs in the data grid with the Current Stock Code that must be replaced. This will query all SYSPRO Jobs using the applicable raw material, where the quantity has not been issued and the quantity required is greater than zero.
All tick boxes under the Process column will be ticked by default. If you scroll to the right-hand side of the screen, you can deselect any Job whose stock code must not be replaced or select the Select All or Deselect All buttons.
After you have selected the correct Jobs whose stock codes must be replaced, select the Start Processing button. The line with the original stock code will be updated to 0 quantity required, and a new line will be written for the new stock code to the Job with the same quantity as the original stock code.
Once processing is completed, the Job will disappear from the data grid, and the current stock code will be replaced with the replacement stock code.
Review the Job in SYSPRO
Under SYSPRO Programs, browse to Work in Progress / Job Query
The Job Query screen will open.
Enter a Job number in the Job field.
Notice under Material Allocations that the replacement stock code (A111) has been added to the Job with the same QTY and warehouse as the current stock code. The current stock code (A100) will not be deleted from the job, but the required QTY will be updated to zero.

Note: If the replacement stock code does not exist in the warehouse of the current stock code, an error message will be displayed in DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS, and you will be required to add the warehouse record to the replacement stock code in SYSPRO before proceeding. |
Follow this process to quickly and effectively replace an existing stock code with an equivalent component on your unconfirmed SYSPRO Jobs.
