Thank you for your understanding and patienceThis screen lists all the tests linked to a stock code via the Stock Code Test Maintenance screen and allows the user to set up the specifications for each test.

  • Enter the applicable Stock Code in the Stock Code field or use the lookup icon to locate it.

  • Select the Refresh icon.

  • Notice all tests added to the Stock Code (via the Stock Code Test Maintenance screen) will be listed in the data grid.

  • Next, the specifications for each test for the specific Stock Code can be set.

  • The Test Type is also visible in the data grid and must be set according to the type. CONFORM (Conformance Tests) vs TOL (Tolerance Tests).

o   Conformance Tests – these have a Boolean value of either True or False. To pass this type of test, the test results should match the Boolean value selected. The test fails if the sample does not match the configured value.

§  To configure this, you must select the Conf. Value column check box.

§  For example: consider a conformance test with the description 'Has the sample’s expiry date expired?' If the test result is 'Yes' or 'True,' it indicates a 'Fail.' Conversely, if the result is 'No' or 'False,' it signifies a 'Pass.' In another scenario, the test might be 'Is the sample’s expiry date still valid?' Here, a 'Yes' or 'True' result would indicate a 'Pass,' while a 'No' or 'False' result would signify a 'Fail.' This binary evaluation simplifies the assessment process, making it clear whether the product or sample meets the specified criteria or not.

o   Tolerance Tests – this test assessment is based on a specified range rather than a strict yes/no value. For these tests, you must set a lower and an upper threshold limit. The test result is deemed a 'PASS' if it falls within this defined range. In other words, the result must be higher than or equal to the lower limit and lower than or equal to the upper limit to meet the acceptance criteria. This approach allows for a certain degree of variability in the test results, acknowledging that minor deviations within the established range are acceptable. Tolerance tests are valuable when a strict binary assessment is not suitable, and a specified level of variation is permissible for the product or sample to be considered acceptable.

§  To configure this, enter the Lower, Upper, and % Pass Threshold columns.

§  The ‘% Pass Threshold” column indicates what percentage of the samples tested needs to pass for the whole test to be considered acceptable.

§  For example: for a value of 75%, 75% of the samples tested must pass for the entire test to be considered acceptable.

  • For both the Conformance and Tolerance tests, you must select the Sample Type, and Sample Value, which works together.

  • The Sample Type column has four predefined options available:

o   % OF – a percentage of the (Sample Value) amount being received will have a test created for.
For Example: If you select the Sample Value to 10%, then 10% of the received QTY will be used to create a test.

o   TOTAL OF – specify a fixed amount (Sample Value) from the received samples,  and tests are created based on this set quantity..
For Example: if you set the Sample Value to 5 units, tests will be conducted using 5 units from the received samples.

o   RUNNING TOTAL – this method involves checking the cumulative total of received quantities of that stock code stored in the database. If adding the new quantity to this running total exceeds the specified Sample Value, tests are generated based on the defined sample size. When ‘Running Total’ is selected, the Sample Size column becomes editable. So, if you set your Sample Value to 10 and Sample Size to 2, then every time you receive more than 10, the system will require 2 samples.

o    RECEIPT – checks the number of receipts (that are stored in the database) whose Sample Value has been reached Whenever the specified Sample Value is achieved, tests are generated based on the set Sample Size value.

  • The Sample Value refers to the number of samples received.

  • The Sample Size must be the Sample Size

  • The Att button can add any attachments required or created for the specific stock code. It will display any test documents already added to the test, and the user can add more attachments applicable to the Stock Code. This can typically be specific instructions on testing a particular stock code for a particular quality test.

o   Click on the button.

o   The Link Attachments screen will open.

o   Add a Description

o   Select the Browse button to upload a file.

o   The Tests Linked column shows a running total of how many tests have actually been processed or the specific Test ID to date.

o   Select the Add button to add the attachment (test) to the Stock Code.
