Thank you for your understanding and patienceThis is the Task Master List and maintenance screen containing the standard tasks already in the system and where you create new custom tasks.

The Task Management module is a task-driven application that generates tasks automatically when configured as specific actions occur in a warehouse. For example, when a Purchase Receipt is done, the system automatically generates a Put Away task to put away the received pallets.

This screen is used to create new tasks.

There are two standard tasks visible in the data grid. These will always be there and can be copied to create new Tasks.

  • If you hover over the Create button, a pop-out window will appear. You can also lock this pop-out window by selecting the Auto Hide button in the top right-hand corner of the pop-out window.

  • Currently, only the two standard tasks that are shipped with the module are visible. This list will grow as you create more custom tasks required for your warehouse.

  • Other columns visible in the data grid are as follows:

    • Task Code - refers to the unique identifier for the task created.

    • Name – this is the name of the Task.

    • MHE – this is an indication whether Material Handling Equipment is used.

    • Est. Time – this refers to the estimated time it will take the Operator to finish this task in minutes.

    • UserField - this is a free text field that can be used to store any custom field that is required. This can be useful within the Task Allocation plugin to make more informed logic when allocating tasks to operators.

    • Description – this is a more detailed description of the task.

    • Application – this is the main module that generates the tasks. For example, the Receipt Purchase Order module.

    • Type – this is the type of task. There are two different types, namely SYSTEM and CUSTOM

    • Action – the user will use the link in this column to copy an existing task and create a new custom task.

Copy a Standard Task

  • The standard tasks can be used as a base to generate a new custom task.

  • Select the Copy link, next to one of the Standard tasks, under the Action column in the data grid.

  • The Copy (Create new from existing) pop-up window will populate automatically with some of the standard task fields.

  • The remaining fields can be updated to create a new Custom task.

    • Task code – must be a unique identifier for the task to be created.

    • Task type – this field will be greyed out, but the type will be CUSTOM by default.

    • Task Name – as you have copied a SYSTEM task, that task name will appear in this field, but you are able to update this according to the new task you are creating.

    • MHE – are a drop-down list where you can select a specific Material Handling Type.

    • Est. Time – refer to the total number of minutes it will require the Operator to complete the task.

    • Application – this is a drop-down with a list of all modules from which tasks can be created for.

    • UserDef. – this is a free text field that can be used to store any custom field that is required.

    • Description – click on the Edit link to edit the existing description of the task you copied.

  • Select Save to save the new Custom task.

  • Once saved, the data grid will update with the newly created Custom task.

  • CUSTOM tasks will have an Edit link under the Action column, as where SYSTEM tasks will only have a Copy link.

  • When selecting the Edit link, the Edit Task pop-out window will appear, and the fields can be updated if required.

  • Select the Save button again, if more changes are made.

Create a new Task

  • Creating a new Task can also be done from this Task Master List.

  • Hover over the Create button, to open the Create menu.

  • Populate the fields, similar when copying an existing standard task.

TECHNICAL

  • NoneThe module is sold with two standard tasks already created.

  • All new task will be a CUSTOM type, whereas the standard tasks will have a SYSTEM type.

  • If you want to delete an obsolete custom task that is no longer required. Right-click on the line and select Delete.

  • SYSTEM tasks cannot be deleted.

TECHNICAL

  • The System Administrator (or Admin user) will set up the task. Ensure the user have the correct permissions to do this. From the Ribbon bar, browse to Settings / Permissions. Select the Group Permissions TAB and locate the ADMINgroup from the Group drop-down. Ensure the user have the following two permissions. MAY_EDIT_TASKVBSCRIPTING and MAY_EDIT_VBSCRIPTING
