This module allows the warehouse controllers to review and release batch orders (pick slips) for manufacturing jobs into the warehouse in user-defined batches or waves (groups). The stock reservation process applies as per the Job Release module, but in this case, many Jobs are processed simultaneously.
These batches or waves are created by entering various filters into the selection window at the start of the process. For example, could you set the filters to only review jobs with a specific start and end date or a particular priority. ? All these user-defined filters work in tandem, so the user can enter several filters to find only the list of jobs required for release.
For WMS to assist with picking components, the Jobs must be created and confirmed in SYSPRO.
The process then consists of three steps:
Job selection by entering various filters. All filter selections are available on the left-hand side of the screen.
Select the Load to Grid option at the bottom of the filter options. This will load the selection in the data grid as entered in the various filters. The components that are greyed out are already on a pick slip and cannot be reserved again.
Reserve the stock to be added to a pick slip. This can be done in two ways:
Manually reserve TrackIDs for each component
Locate the stock code that you want to reserve
Look for the Reserve link by scrolling to the far right of the data grid
This will open the Reserve Tracking ID pop-up window, where you will see all the available TrackIDs and Qty’s in the warehouse that matches the warehouse of that component on the Job
TrackIDs in the grey text are still in Receiving Bins and, therefore, not available for picking
Click on the Reserve checkbox to automatically reserve the required Qty, which is visible at the top of the pop-up screen, from the TrackID selected
You can also edit the Qty manually if required
When completed with your manual selections, you can select the Reserve button at the bottom of the screen
The line will turn green if completely satisfied with Reserve
The End Reservation button in the bottom right corner will save your work, but not print a pick slip. This gives you the option to go back to the screen and make changes until you are ready to print the pick slip
Auto-reserve button
The Auto-Reserve button is located at the top right corner of the data grid.
If you click the Auto Reserve button, all existing manual reservations you made will be cleared, and the software will automatically allocate available stock
This Auto-reserve option will apply the logic of which auto-reservation rule has been selected under the Warehouse Settings. The Current Reservation Rule will be visible in the bottom left-hand corner of the data grid.
Once completed, the screen will refresh, and all lines that are 100% reserved will turn green
A pop-up might appear, asking whether you want to reserve the fully reserved Jobs and release them to a Pick Slip.
Select Yes
The Create Pick SlipSlips screen willappear
You also have the option to clear your current reservation by selecting the Clear Reservation button
Confirm the Reservations and print the Job pick slips
Select the Confirm button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Jobs can be grouped and then released in batches. The data grid summing allows the users to quickly evaluate which jobs to release based on the component fill rate.
Right-click on a line and select Release Orders in Group. This will ensure that each order’s picking slip has the same Master shipment number.
If the grouping is undone, a single order can be selected, by right-click and select Release this Order.
Select Confirm. This will confirm the reservation and print the Job pick slip(s).
A printer pop-up will appear, asking you to which printer you want to print to.
You also have the option to clear your current reservation by selecting the Clear Reservation button
Confirm the Reservations and print the Job pick slips
Once you have selected the printer a second pop-up will appear giving you the Pick Slip number
A second pop-up will appear asking you whether you want to pre-print Picking TrackID labels
Confirm on the Create Pick Slips screen (mentioned above) the data grid will update with a green tick mark, indicating whether the pick slip(s) have been printed. If any issues are picked up, a message will appear in the Message field in the data grid.
Once the pick slip has been printed, you will also be able to view the pick slip on the Pick Slip Review screen.

FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW
The Job Wave Release screen is used to release picking slips for manufacturing jobs but in large batches or waves. The typical stock reservation process applies as per the “Job Release” function but in this case many Jobs are processed at the same time. The module is used extensively to release waves of picks into the factory.
These waves are created by entering various user defined filters into the selection window at the start of the process. For instance one can select to only review jobs that have a specific start or end date or have a particular priority. All of the underlying filters work in tandem so a user can enter a number of different filters to find only the list of jobs required for release.
The process is fundamentally 3 steps, as follows
Job selection
Decide which jobs are candidates for picking based on the following filters as a range or a single filter
Include Kit Issue Items
Job Numbers
Job Classification
Job Confirmation
Job Delivery Date
Job Start Date
Linked to Sales Order Numbers
Range of Parent Stock Codes
Include jobs where a picking slip already exists
Job Priority
Reservation of stock
This can be done by either using the hyper link to select stock for each line, or using the auto-reserve button to reserve all lines on the screen. The auto-reserve button will apply the logic of which ever auto-reservation rule has been selected in the warehouse settings.
The following reservation rules exist: (these are detailed below)
Rule 7 – for jobs only – full pack size from bulk warehouse, remainders from pick face.
Or - A custom rule can be developed for your site
Confirmation/release of the jobs to create reservations (picking slips)
Jobs can be grouped and then released in batches. The grid summing allows the user to quickly evaluate which jobs to release based on the component fill rate.
Orders can be released at a group level – right clicking and selecting Release Orders in Group. This will ensure that each order’s picking slip has the same Master shipment number.
If the grouping is undone, a single order can be selected the the right click option of “Release this order” can be used
Lastly, if the grouping is undone, the user can click the Confirm button and a picking slip per sales order will be released.

TECHNICAL
To select an appropriate Auto Reservation rule, when selecting the Auto Reserve button, there are two ways to configure it.
If the same Reservation rule must be applied at all Warehouses the System Setting AUTO_RESERVATION_RULE must be updated. From the Ribbon Bar, browse to Settings / System Settings, select System name PICKING_JOB_ALLOCATION from the System Name drop-down and locate theAUTO_RESERVATION_RULESetting Name. Update the SettingValue to the required Reservation Rule.
If different Reservation rules apply to different Warehouses there are two settings to be configured. Update the System Setting AUTO_RESERVATION_RULE under the System name PICKING_JOB_ALLOCATION to Warehouse AND update the Warehouse Setting for the applicable warehouse. From the Ribbon Bar, browse to Settings / Warehouse Settings, select the applicable Warehouse from the drop-down and locate the System name PICKING_JOB_ALLOCATION from the System Name drop-down and locate theAUTO_RESERVATION_RULESetting Name. Update the SettingValue to the required Auto Reservation Rule for that specific Warehouse.
