Function Overview

This module has been developed to hold a master record link between your SYSPRO stock codes and your supplier bar codes so that you can scan the labels on the suppliers products within your distribution center. The module allows for a one to many link so that you can have your SYSPRO stock code linked to a range of different barcodes depending on the pack sizes.

For instance you may have a product that you can scan as a unit or as a pack (UPC) or as a case. Each has a different barcode and each barcode can be setup with its pack size. A more detailed example would be the following:

Barcode 92587175  Is for a single can of Coke
Barcode 92591248 is for a pack of six cans of Coke
Barcode 92591735 is for a case of 24 cans of Coke

The user first selects a stock code that is to be setup with barcode data.

On the grid the user will enter the following values:

The stock code (same as above)

The source will default to CUSTOM if manually loaded and SYSTEM if the data was imported from SYSPRO

Alternate Value - Here you will enter that actual bar code for this product or pack of products - Product, Pack/UPC or Outerpack

Conversion would normally be Multiply

Factor will refer to the number of units involved. A barcode for a single unit will always be 1

UOM - will be the pack unit of measure that we would see on the scanner. This could be Each, Unit, Pack, Box, Crate etc

There are a number of wildcard option that can also be used. This is useful when your suppler bar code has a number of values within a single bar code. For instance one supplier could provide bar codes that include their stock code and batch number and quantity while another supplier may include their stock code and manufacture date in the bar code. In both cases we want to read the barcode and then look for a specific string within the bar code which denotes the product number. It is this value that will allow us to cross reference back to the SYSPRO stock code.

This can be setup within the module by using the wildcard entries.

Single Seq Wildcard Character: _  - Adding an "_" and then the bar code number into the Alternate Value field will

Multi Seq Wildcard Character: % - Adding an "%" and then the bar code number into the Alternate Value field will

Minimum re Non Wildcard: 5 - This value
