Pickface Replenishment [REP053]
Warehouse supervisors will monitor the progress of replenishments using the PC-based Pickface Replenishment Review screen, and the replenishment staff will be tasked to pick the necessary stock by moving through the warehouse, and selecting replenishment lines on the HTML5 scanner.
Let us review how they will use the Pickface Replenishment module on the HTML5 scanner to replenish the empty pickface bins.
Select the supplying warehouse the user is currently working in, from the Warehouse drop-down list. This is to view the replenishments already created for that warehouse.
The user will then select the stock code that requires replenishment, by selecting the checkbox, (in front of the bin name) and the Next button on the screen.
This will take the user to the next TAB, which is Fetch
Note: There are more TABs at the bottom of the Pickface Replenishment module. Unfortunately, not all are used – it depends on the way pickface replenishment is done. The Alt Put Away and Unit Put Away TABs are only available with the Premium version of DATASCOPE WMS.
There are two ways of picking replenishment:
Direct replenishment process
In this process, the user will only transact in the Fetch TAB on this screen for the entire duration of the transaction.
The selected stock code requiring replenishment appears at the top of the screen as well as the pickface bin and Qty required.
Note: The default FASTTRACK WMS installation does not suggest any supplying TrackID, so the user can scan any TrackID from any bin that contains the required stock code.
By refreshing the Pickface Replenishment Review screen on the PC, the supervisor can see that the stock code replenishment has a status of IN PROGRESS. The user doing the replenishment is also visible on the screen
The Warehouse staff will scan the supplying pallet’s TrackID, or you can search for it via the Information Check screen
Once entered or scanned into the TrackID field you can TAB to the next field and the rest of the screen will populate automatically with the required information.
Enter the Destination TrackID in the To TrackID field and update the Qty to be moved to fulfil the requirement. The To TrackID would be the Pickface bin/TrackID, as the user is replenishing the stock from the bulk pallet directly into the pickface location.
Note: The selected stock code requiring replenishment appears at the top of the screen as well as the pickface bin (To TrackID) and Qty required.
Select Post
The stock will then move from the supplying pallet (bulk bin) into the pickface bin.
This will complete the requirement and clear the replenishment off the PC Pickface Replenishment Review screen and the scanner Items list
When stock must be moved between a bulk bin warehouse and a pickface bin warehouse the Fetch and Put-Away process will be used.
Fetch and Put-Away process
When using the Fetch and put-away option for replenishment, the user would typically be moving stock between a bulk warehouse and a pickface warehouse, so will therefore perform a two-stage process of
fetching the supplying stock onto a carrier pallet and then
putting it away into the pickface bin as a second transaction.
The benefit of using this process is that the stock can be tracked while ‘in-transit’, between supplying bin warehouse and the destination bin warehouse.
The user will require a temporary carrier label for the first stage. Let’s print a temporary tote label.
Printing a temporary carrier tote label
Each replenishment user would need to print out a ‘temporary’ carrier label for the use of carrying the required stock code from bulk to the pickface location. This carrier label would typically be placed on the empty carrier pallet which will be used to fetch the stock code from bulk.
To print the ‘temporary’ carrier label you must open the PC screen under Labeling / Tote Trolley Labeling
Fetch the stock code
Now the user must fetch the required stock code, which must be replenished.
Browse to the Information Check screen under KPI Dashboard & Reporting / Standard Reports / Information Check
Enter the Stock code number that requires replenishment (as per the Pickface Replenishment Review screen) and select a pallet within a Bulk Bin that will be used to Replenish the stock in a Pick Face Bin
Follow the same process explained in Fetch stock to replenish pickface bin until you are on the Fetch tab.
On the Fetch tab, the TrackID value will be the Pallet number that was selected from Bulk bin.
Put-Away into the Pickface bin
In this process, the To TrackID field will however be the Tote Label that we have printed earlier and not the pickface bin/TrackID
Enter the Quantity to be replenished and select Post.
At this stage, the replenishment user will physically move the stock to the pickface warehouse on the temporary carrier pallet with the temporary tote label. On arrival at the destination bin, the user would open the Put-Away TAB on the Pickface Replenishment scanner-based screen and follow the next process:
Open the Pickface Replenishment module on the scanner and open the Put Away TAB
The replenishment user must scan the temporary carrier pallet tote label into the TrackID field. The scanner will then indicate which pickface bin the stock is destined for.
The user must then scan the pickface TrackID that will populate the To TrackID field
Select Post to post the transaction.
This action would now complete this replenishment.
