Sales Order MSN Picking [PIK066]
The Sales Order MSN Picking is typically used when multiple pick slips or sales orders reserve stock for the same TrackID, which must be shipped together. This is, however, only possible if they are all joined by the same MSN, as only one MSN can be picked at once.
As the pick slip number will have the same format as the Pick to Pickslip or Pick to TrackID, which is PickslipNumber+Warehouse (example: 1010+RM), many checkout options are allowed, as the stock is still picked to the pick slip.
Notice that this screen is broken down into multiple TABS, starting with Assign. This is used when the logged-in user assigns the MSN to himself.
When assigning a pick from the Sales Order MSN Picking mobile screen, you must enter the MSN number (containing all the pick slips)
Select Next to go to the next TAB.
The Slips TAB gives the logged-in user a list of all the assigned pick slips.
Select the pick slip that you want to pick and then select Next to go to the next TAB.
The Items TAB will open, giving you a summary of all the Bins, Tracking IDs, stock codes, and Qty on the pick slip. You can also see how many you have scanned to date in the Scanned column. This is all for information purposes.
Select an item that you want to pick and select Next to go to the Pick TAB
The Pick TAB will open. This is the main picking screen that explains what Sugg Tracking ID, stock code, and quantity the picker must fetch. In the blue section, the picker can see the stock code and description of the item. It also indicates whether it is a Lot traceable item or not
If the MSN_PICK_TO_TOTE warehouse setting was activated, and Tote labels were created and linked to pick slips, then an additional field will be visible where the Tote Number must be added. Once the Tote number is entered the Tote validation will determine whether the pick slips are linked to the selected Tote(s). If the pick slips aren’t linked a warning message will appear stating that the selected pick slips aren’t linked to the Tote Number.
The picker will then physically go to the Sugg Bin and scan the TrackID; you can also type it into the TrackID field. If you TAB off the field the rest of the fields will auto-populate
The picker will see at the top of the screen what the Qty is that must be picked, and this must be updated in the Quantity field
Note that all individual pick slip lines linked to the one MSN are consolidated from all the associated pick slips to be picked together.
For a Lot traceable stock code, the Lot Number field will be set to the Lot number displayed in the blue section. If the TrackID has multiple Lots on it, then you will have to select the Lot by clicking on the Lot Number field drop-down
Select Post to indicate that the item has been picked. The screen will automatically load to the next item on the pick slip to be picked
Once all the items on the pick slip have been picked, the scanner will automatically go to the Confirm TAB, where you will see a summary of all the items that have been picked
Notice the color codes on the Confirm TAB
Red – Over/Under Outside Tolerance
Orange – Over/Under Within Tolerance
Green – Exactly Satisfied
If you are satisfied with your pick, you select Confirm. The software will then complete the pick and update the status of the pick slip to PICKED
You can go back to your Pick Slip Review screen. Right-click on your order and View the Reservations. The Picked Qty column will be updated, and a Picking Track ID will be added (which consists of the picking ID plus the warehouse code) which is a system-generated ID. The software will automatically move the stock from the picking Bin to the Picking Track ID
SPECIAL FEATURES
MSN picking is typically conducted in a consolidated manner. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to assign only one MSN per operator to streamline the picking process effectively.
Pick multiple pick slips and sales orders simultaneously - pick the total QTY at the Bin for a common TrackID.
All pick slips must be on the same MSN
MSN Tote picking can also be done using this screen. Update a Warehouse Setting and ensure Tote Labels has been printed and linked to the pick slips. Refer to Tote Trolley Labeling [LAB007] and Link Totes [CHK108]
TECHNICAL
It is recommended to use the Auto-confirmed fully picked pick slip Warehouse setting, otherwise we must confirm each picking individually. As you are picking a MSN, there will be multiple pick slips.
On the Ribbon Bar, browse to Settings / Warehouse Settings. Select the applicable Warehouse from the drop-down and search for SALESORDER_PICKING System Name. Update the Setting value for AUTO_CONFIRM_FULLY_PICKED_PICKING_SLIPS to Y(es)
To perform MSN Tote picking the following Warehouse Setting must be updated. Select the applicable Warehouse from the drop-down, and locate the DISPATCH System Name. Update the setting value for the MSN_PICK_TO_TOTE setting name to Y(es). Select Apply at the bottom of the screen to save the setting change.
