Set up Alternative Stock Codes in SYSPRO
SYSPRO
You must ensure two stock codes for each packaging type exist in SYSPRO to use the Stock code convert module in DATASCOPE WMS.
If you don’t like reading, you can watch the video.
Try it!
Open SYSPRO
Browse to Inventory / Setup / Alternate Stock Codes
The Alternate Stock Code screen will open.
Search for the primary stock code by entering it in the Stock code field.
Select the New button on the menu.
A new line will appear. Use the lookup icon to search for the Alternate Stock Code.
Select the Select button once the stock code was located.
Take note of the of Conversion factor and the Conversion method, as this will determine the quantity for the Alternate Stock Code.
The Conversion factor must be applied when the stocking unit of measure of the alternate stock code is not the same as the stocking unit of measure of the original stock code. All calculations for alternate stock codes are done in the stocking unit of measure of the respective stock code.
For Example:
If an order is placed for 1 EA of A100 (one case of 24 water bottles), the quantity required from the alternate stock code is one bottle of A103 (one single bottle of water):
Original stock code = A100
Stocking UOM = CASE (24 Bottles = 1 CASE)
Alternate UOM = Case
Alternate stock code = A103
Stocking UOM = Each (1 CASE = 24 Bottles)
Alternate UOM = Bottles
Conversion factor = 24 Multiple (1 Case of A100 = 24 bottles of A103
1 Case (A100) = 24 Bottles (A103) (24*1) - converting to stocking UOM of A100
24 Bottles (A103) = 1 CASE (A100) - converting to stocking UOM of A103
An alternate stock code line will be added to the sales order for 24 bottles of A103.
o  The Conversion method refers to the calculation method. Either Multiply or Divide the alternative stock code stocking unit of measure by the conversion factor to convert it to the original stock code stocking unit of measure.
The stock code conversion process in DATASCOPE WMS can be done on either the PC or HTML scanner. The process is the same on both screens, except there is space for a TrackID reference on the PC screen.
