Create a Job

There are typically two ways to create a Job in SYSPRO:

  1. Create a Job from a Bill of Material

  2. Create a Job without a Bill of Material.

Let’s look at creating a Job from a Bill of Material.

The first step would be to create the Bill of Material.

Create a Bill of Material

A Job usually contains a Parent stock code and various ‘child stock codes.’ The ‘child stock codes’ is what is required to build up the Parent stock code and ultimately create the Job.

  • Open SYSPRO

  • On the Program List browse to Bill and Materials / Setup / Structure and Routings.

o   Select or add the ‘child stock code’ in the Stock code field.

o   Ensure the Unit of measure is correct. This will depend on the product.

o   The Quantity per must have at least one unit.

o   Take note whether it is a Kit issue or not.

o   Select Save to add the ‘child stock code’ to the parent stock code.

  • Once your Parent stock code has been created you can continue to create the Job in SYSPRO.

  • In SYSPRO, on the Program List, browse to Work In Progress / Job Postings / Job Entry.

  • The Job Entry screen will open.

o   Add the Customer (this is not necessarily required for DATASCOPE WMS)

o   Add the Quantity to make. This is the quantity of the Parent stock code.

  • SYSPRO then pulls through all the ‘child stock codes’ added under the Bill of Materials section and generate it as Materials for the Job.

  • The Quantity required for the Job will multiply with the material quantity (the Quantity required for each child stock code)
