Grouping Sales Orders
Releasing Sales Order as an MSN group is done from the Sales Order Wave Release screen. Let us group Sales Orders for different SYSPRO customer codes and release them as an MSN Group.
From the Main Menu, browse to Order Release / Pick Slip Release / Sales Order Wave Release.
The parameter screen with various filter options will open.
The run-time filters on the Sales Order Allocation Parameter screen can assist with setting and scheduling the wave intervals on the warehouse floor.
Select the applicable filter. For more information, refer to Sales Order Wave Release.
Select the Refresh icon to load the data grid.
Using the grouping feature of the data grid, drag any of the column headings to the Drag a column header here to group by that column section, which will group the data by that column. For more information, refer to Grouping in Different Methods.
You have two options to reserve the stock.
o  Auto Reserve all the lines before grouping by selecting the Auto Reserve button.
o  Group the data by the desired column, right-click on each grouped line, and select Auto Reserve Group.
If any Sales Orders are 100% reserved, a pop-up will appear asking if you want to release the pick slips.
Select No on the pop-up as we will do an MSN release.
Regroup the data again by dragging the desired column header to the Drag a column header here to group by that column section.
Notice that the Reserve percentage and the ReservedValue Sum will not be visible for the group of auto-reserved Sales Orders.
To release this reserved group, right-click on the line.
Two options are available:
Select the first option, Release Orders in Group (MSN Grouped), to release the pick slips using MSN grouped.
Release Sales Orders as an MSN Group
This option creates individual pick slips for each reserved Sales Order and prints them to your selected printer, but all the Sales Orders are linked to one MSN number.
The Release Order pop-up will appear. Select Yes.
The Printer pop-up will appear.
The individual pick slips for each reserved sales order will be printed.
A pop-up will appear showing the pick slips that have been printed.
Review the pick slips (for the Release Sales Orders as an MSN Group option)
To review these pick slips, browse the Pick Slip Review screen under Order Release / Pick Slip Management.
All the pick slips in the MSN Group will have individual pick slip numbers, one for each Sales Order, but both will have one MSN number. This means that both pick slips are linked to one MSN number at a high level, allowing a picker to pick them together using the Sales Order MSN HTML5 picking screen.
Pick pick slips with one MSN number.
For more information, refer to MSN Picking (Sales Order MSN Picking).
MSN picking is typically conducted in a consolidated manner. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that only one MSN per operator be assigned to streamline the process effectively.
Release Sales Orders per Order
This option also creates individual pick slips for each reserved Sales Order and prints them to your selected printer, but each Sales Order has its own individual MSN number.
Follow the same process to group Sales Orders and auto reserve the stock.
To release this reserved group, right-click on the line and select the second option, Release Orders in Group (MSN per Order), to release the pick slips using MSN grouped.
The Release Order pop-up will appear. Select Yes.
The Printer pop-up will appear to print the pick slips.
The individual pick slips for each reserved sales order will be printed.
Review the pick slips (for the Release Sales Orders MSN per Order)
To review these pick slips, browse the Pick Slip Review screen under Order Release / Pick Slip Management.
All the pick slips will have individual pick slip numbers, one for each Sales Order, and individual MSN numbers. This means that the pick slips are not linked at a high level and, therefore, not grouped together under one MSN number. To one MSN number allows a picker to pick them together using the Sales Order MSN HTML5 picking screen.
Pick pick slips with individual MSN numbers.
These pick slips can be picked by either using the Sales Order MSN Picking screen or the Sales Pick to Pickslip screen.
