Ribbon Bar Shortcuts

Ribbon Bar

The DATASCOPE WMS user interface has a similar look and feel to Microsoft Office or SYSPRO. A central element of your interaction with the software is the Ribbon Bar. This feature conveniently places icons for numerous functional WMS and SYSPRO functions within easy reach. Organized into tabs such as Notifications, Settings, Permissions, and more, the Ribbon Bar groups similar shortcuts together for quick access. Click on the name of a tab to reveal its associated icons. Additionally, you can launch SYSPRO screens directly from shortcuts on the WMS Ribbon Bar. This seamless integration saves users from the hassle of logging in and out of SYSPRO and WMS, streamlining their workflow between the two applications.

Notifications

This module ships standard with any installation of DATASCOPE WMS, as it is part of the software's foundation system. The module is a communication medium between all DATASCOPE WMS users on PC applications or mobile devices.

The module allows an administrator to configure predefined templates with set headings and suggested contact lists. For instance, a notification template could be set up for all Cycle Count notifications. This template could be named “Urgent Cycle Count Request” and scheduled to message a standard list of users always.

Settings

The Settings tab is divided into three categories: System Settings, Operator Setup, and KPI Setup.

Users can access all configuration settings under the System Settings. DATASCOPE WMS operates on a settings-driven basis, meaning various screens may function differently based on the applied configurations. This section is where these configurations will be made.

The following options exist:

  • System Settings – This screen sets up and configures various system settings and configurations. These will differ from Warehouse to Warehouse depending on the warehouse and distribution model being followed.

  • Warehouse Settings —System settings can also be made at a Warehouse level. This screen allows a user to set system settings for a specific Warehouse.

  • Printers —This screen sets up printers against appropriate System Actions (for example, printing Sales Order Pick Slips). In large warehouses, different processes often take place in dedicated areas. Dedicated printers or print stations can be configured only to allow printing for their assigned processes to streamline operations.

  • Search SettingsDATASCOPE WMS offers a wide array of configurable settings. Given its setting-driven nature, where individual screens can adapt their functions based on configuration, understanding the correspondence between settings and screens can sometimes be challenging. To streamline this process, the search screen enables users to explore all settings and access their descriptions effortlessly.

  • Business Objects Settings - This screen allows users to set parameters for SYSPRO Business Objects.

Under the Operator Setup heading, you will find all the configurations around the user. This section is where these configurations will be made.

  • Operator Maintenance—This tab opens the Operator Maintenance screen in SYSPRO. This screen is typically used to set default settings per Operator.

  • User Licensing —This screen marks SYSPRO users as DATASCOPE WMS users. It is important to note that all DATASCOPE WMS users must first have a SYSPRO E.Net license.

  • Permissions—After a SYSPRO user has been marked as a DATASCOPE WMS user, they can be linked to specific groups and assigned permissions. This screen is used to set the permissions.

  • Defaults—When setting up users and operators, specific default settings, such as the default Warehouse, Area, and Print Station, can be configured per user. This screen is used for these configurations.

  • Operator Labeling—All Operators working on a warehouse floor must be identified and tracked during any cycle within a warehouse. For this purpose, a label that the operator must use to sign in every time he processes a transaction is used. This screen will print a barcode label for each operator.

Under the KPI Setup heading, you will set the Daily Picking Targets.

SYSPRO Queries

From these tabs, you can open any Inventory Query, Sales Order Query, Purchase Order Query, Lot Traceability Query, or WIP Query directly from SYSPRO.

To set up and configure these queries.

To configure DATASCOPE WMS to open these SYSPRO Queries, the system setting SYSPRO_BASE_PATH must be updated.

  • From the Ribbon Bar, browse Settings / System Settings and locate the System Name GENERAL. The following SYSPRO Setting names will have to be updated.

o   SYSPRO_BASE_PATH – this must point to the base folder for the SYSPRO application or the SYSPRO client.

o   SYSPRO_HOST_ADDRESS – this refers to the SYSPRO Server IP.

o   SYSPRO_HOST_TYPE – this should always be set to WCF.

o   SYSPRO_WCF_PORT - refers to the port set up for the SYSPRO Communications service. It can be seen under Services /

SYSPRO Maintenance

You can access some SYSPRO screens from these tabs, often used while performing daily tasks. Once the button has been selected, the specific SYSPRO module will open.

SYSPRO Custom Menu

This tab is a customizable section for further SYSPRO functionality that is not covered in the other two tabs (SYSPRO Queries and SYSPRO Maintenance). It provides space for shortcuts to any other SYSPRO program.

To set up and configure additional SYSPRO screens.

To customize the SYSPRO Custom Menu, each user must install a working SYSPRO client.

The correct permissions are also required to do the customizations. On the Ribbon Bar, browse to Settings / System Settings and locate the CUSTOM_SYSPRO_MENU System Name.

Up to five different SYSPRO Programs can be placed on this Ribbon Bar. For each shortcut, you must enter the Program name (a 6-digit code for the program), a Description (which is what is shown on the menu), and an Image to be used as an icon.

When connecting to SYSPRO, the IP address of your SYSPRO host is used. This must be correctly specified in WMS System Settings under the System Name GENERAL. Locate the SettingName SYSPRO_HOST_ADDRES.

Support

The Support tab will assist users with support documentation (a link to the Software user guide and DATASCOPE website) and a Support toolbox for monitoring any issues within the DB.

When selecting the Online Help the online Software User Guide will open.

Launch HTML5

Our current Mobile platform, typically used on scanners, is based on HTML5 and functions on any Android 8 or higher mobile device. The HTML5 screens can, however, also be accessed via the software PC frontend.

This tab allows users to access the HTML5 screens from the PC frontend. The screens look and function exactly as the operator would use them on a scanner.
