Other/Alternate SKU scanning

DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS has various picking options, but to scan stock codes (also known as SKU scanning) during one of these picking options, barcode values must be configured correctly under the Barcode Maintenance module, located on the main menu under Warehouse setup.

View a stock code.
To view the various alternate values for a stock code, open the Barcode Maintenance module.
From the Main Menu, browse to Warehouse Setup / Barcode Maintenance / Barcode Maintenance.
Enter the Stock Code in the Stock Code field and view the alternate values configured.
These alternate values typically represent the different pack sizes of the product. For example, in the above example, the A100x6 is the barcode value for a 6-pack of the stock code A100.

Warehouse Setting to be updated.
Once the basic master data for the stock code with alternate values has been configured and you're ready to scan these alternate barcodes during the picking process, make sure to update the necessary Warehouse Setting before you start scanning.
On the Ribbon Bar, browse to Settings / Warehouse Settings and select the applicable warehouse from the Warehouse drop-down list.
Locate the SALESORDER_PICKING system name and update the AUTO_LOAD_STOCK setting name value to N(o).
This setting change is required so that the stock code does not automatically load on the picking screen, and the alternate stock code can be scanned.
Select Apply to save the setting change.
Scanning an alternate barcode
Scenario: You have a pick slip for 24 units of item A100, but instead of scanning each unit, you want to scan the alternate barcode for a 6-pack. The system should recognize the 6-pack barcode and automatically resolve it to the SYSPRO stock code A100. This allows the scanner to count the 6-pack as six units of A100, simplifying and speeding up the picking process.
Open the Sales Pick to Pick slip screen on the mobile device.
If you are working on a PC screen, select Launch HTML5 from the Ribbon bar, and select Launch HTML5.
Use the search functionality to search or the Sales Pick to Pick slip screen.
Scan or enter the pick slip number in the Pick Slip field and navigate to the Pick tab.
Scan or enter the TrackID in the TrackID field.
The cursor will wait on the Stock Code field as you’ve updated the AUTO_LOAD_STOCK setting to N(o)
Enter the alternate stock code, for example, A100x6, which is the alternate barcode for a 6-pack.

When tabbing off the field, the software automatically converts this A100 stock code.
The Quantity field will not update automatically according to the conversion factor configured under the Barcode Maintenance screen.
Picking must still be done in the SYSPRO stocking Unit of Measure (UOM) of the base A100 stock code.
This alternate stock code functionality is available throughout the software, including all picking screens and any other screen where the stock code field requires input. It makes the software very flexible when dealing with the same stock code in multiple units of measure or pack sizes.
