MSN Pick to Tote
The MSN Pick to Tote is very similar to the MSN picking process, but here, we are picking into reusable totes. Each order may have multiple totes that would be checked out using the DATASCOPE Tote Checkout module. Additionally, multiple orders destined for the same customer can be picked into the same tote, checked, and shipped together.

MSN Tote picking is done using the Sales Order MSN Picking screen, however, a Warehouse Setting must be updated first.
From the Ribbon Bar, browse to Settings / Warehouse Settings. Select the applicable Warehouse from the drop-down, and locate the DISPATCH System Name. Update the setting value for the MSN_PICK_TO_TOTE setting name to Y(es). Select Apply at the bottom of the screen to save the setting change.
Assign all pick slips to one MSN
As you would still do an MSN pick, all pick slips that has the same TrackID on them must first be joined to the same MSN.
For more information on linking multiple pick slips onto one MSN, refer to Assign Pick Slips to a MSN (Master Shipment Number) | Add/remove a Pick Slip to an existing MSN
Create Tote Labels
The first step would be to print out some Tote Labels.
For more information on creating and printing Tote Labels, refer to Tote Trolley Labeling
Linking Tote Labels to Pick Slips
Once you have your Tote Labels printed, the next step would be to link the Tote Labels to the Pick Slips. The HTML5 Link Totes screen will be used for this purpose.
Start picking stock using the Sales Order MSN Picking HTML5 screen
The exact same process will be followed as you would do a Sales Order MSN picking, but because we changed the MSN_PICK_TO_TOTE setting name to Y(es) an additional field will be visible on the Pick Tab.
To open the HTML 5 scanner-based window from the PC, go to the Ribbon Bar and select Launch HTML 5. This will open the HTML 5 sub-menu
Click on the Launch HTML 5 icon.
Your HTML 5 scanner window will load.
From the lookup icon you can search for Sales Order MSN Picking.
Select Next to go to the next TAB.
The Slips TAB gives a list of all the assigned pick slips to the logged-in user
Select the pick slip that you want to pick and then select Next to go to the next TAB
The Items TAB will open which will give you a summary of all the Bins, Tracking IDs, stock codes, and Qty that are on the pick slip. You can also see in the Scanned column how many you have scanned to date. This is all for information purposes
Select an item that you want to pick and select Next to go to the Pick TAB
The Pick TAB will open. This is the main picking screen that explains what Sugg Tracking ID, stock code, and quantity the picker must fetch. In the blue section, the picker can see the stock code and description of the item. It also indicates whether it is a Lot traceable item or not.
An additional field will be visible on this screen, which is the Tote field.
The picker will then physically go to the Sugg TrackID and scan the TrackID; you can also type it into the TrackID field. If you TAB off the field the rest of the fields will auto-populate
Enter the Tote number in the Tote field.
If a warning message appear, then the pick slip has not been linked to the Tote number entered.
The picker will see at the top of the screen what the Qty is that must be picked, and this must be updated in the Quantity field
Select Post to indicate that the item has been picked. The screen will automatically load to the next item on the pick slip to be picked
Once all the items on the pick slip have been picked, the scanner will automatically go to the Confirm TAB, where you will see a summary of all the items that have been picked
Notice the color codes on the Confirm TAB
Red – Over/Under Outside Tolerance
Orange – Over/Under Within Tolerance
Green – Exactly Satisfied
If you are satisfied with your pick, you select Confirm. The software will then complete the pick and update the status of the pick slip to PICKED
You can go back to your Pick Slip Review screen. Right-click on your order and View TrackID.
You can also look at the Information Check screen.
Enter the Tote number in the TrackID field
Select the Select All TrackID Types tick box as it’s a Picking Type TrackID.
Also select All Warehouses.
Refresh the data grid.
The stock will still sit on the picking TrackIDs, but the Tote number will be the linking mechanism indicating what exactly the Tote is holding.
The pick slip is now ready for the checkout process.
The preferred checkout process would be the MSN Grocery Pack checkout, as this allows the user to pack the consolidated packs into the correct boxes during the process, as the picking process was picked in a consolidated fashion. For more information on the checkout process refer to MSN Grocery Checkout (Small Parcels)
