Labeling / Serial Labeling [LAB005]

Although the full serial module of DATASCOPE WMS is only due for future release, a simple version of serial picking is now included in the software. This does not work with SYSPRO’s serialization module. In this mode, stock codes are flagged as serialized using a SYSPRO custom form field. Then during the picking process, the scanner will prompt the user to scan serials when required. This records the serialization data for reporting purposes. Although a simple process, it is quite effective for companies wanting to report serial sales details. Standard reports show what serials have been sold to which customers on what order, and at what date.

This screen prints a Serial Number barcode label that can be placed onto products to scan the items when it is picked. Occasionally, products might have a Serial Number on the box, but the products inside don’t have a Serial Number label. These Serial number barcodes are not recorded inside SYSPRO at all.

This is only a labeling module to label stock with barcoded labels that don’t have labels on them.

From the Main Menu browse to Labeling / Serial Labeling

Locate Serial Labeling

The Serial Labeling screen will open.

Serial Labeling module

Enter the Serial Number as it is visible on the product.
Select Print

A Printer pop-up will appear. Ensure the correct Printer is selected from the drop-down.

Select Apply
A small barcode label will print that can be placed on the product to be scanned during picking.

As DATASCOPE WMS does not support Serial numbers, we do allow a site to scan a Serial number if stock codes are set up with a customs form field. For more information on configuring serial scanning refer to Create a Custom Form field
