The DATASCOPE WMS TMS module contains core entities — plugins — that provide an extra layer for you or your developer to manipulate any data going in or out of the WMS, enabling all the interfacing between your normal WMS and external, third-party shipping or TMS software. Usually, standard cloud-based solutions (ProShip, Logistyx, FreightPOP, etc.) integrate with FedEx, UPS, USPS, and other carriers doing the integration work.
The TMS module creates the interface layer between DATASCOPE WMS and any third-party software solutions on the floor. The net effect of this interfacing is on the floor itself. There, you can process orders efficiently and let the automation take care of shipping, labeling, and everything else in the background.
Initially, all Shipments will be processed on an order level, meaning every sales order being processed via SYSPRO will be visible on this screen and must go through some validation checks.
This screen is used to manage those orders. Ideally, you wouldn’t need to view this screen, but as issues might occur, this is the report you can use to manage and track the issues.
Search by entering a Sales Order number in the From Sales Order and To Sales Order fields, or
You can also search by Carrier. Enter the Carrier name in the Carrier field.
TMS Orders has various statuses, and you can also search by selecting one of the statuses in the TMS Order Status drop-down.
Orders can also be filtered by Order Type. You have the option to select All, Small Parcel, or LTL.
Routing – Occasionally a Carrier will not be selected when a Sales Order is created and therefore it will not go through the Initial Rate Shop process. These types of orders cannot be released or picked until a Carrier has been selected. To easily find these types of orders the Route or Set Route filters options can be used.
Select the Refresh icon to load the data grid.
Once your data grid is loaded, you have the option to group, filter, and sort the information by using the Drag a column header here to group by that column area at the top of the data grid, just above the data grid column headers.
Once orders reach Checkout, it can become complicated as multiple pick slips can be generated for one customer or destination per day. Ultimately, those must all be shipped together as one shipment. These Shipments are then managed in the next screen, Shipment Process.

TECHNICAL
To start using this module, it must be activated first. On the Ribbon bar, go to Settings / System Settings. Search for the TMS System Name in the drop-down. Locate the SettingName TMS_INTEGRATION and update the SettingValue to Y. This setting determines whether the TMS is switched on.
As soon as the TMS module is activated you might experience certain blocks on some associated module. For example, if you try to Release a pick slip (under Order Release / Sales Order Release) of an order whose address wasn’t validated successfully (it will have an Address Validation of ERROR – Invalid Address), you will get an error message. You cannot release the pick slip until the Address validation issue has been resolved.
