This module holds a master record link between the installed SYSPRO Stock Code and the Supplier barcode. This allows you to scan the barcode labels on the Supplier product within your Distribution Center. It allows for a one to many link, therefore a SYSPRO Stock Code can be linked to a range of different barcodes depending on the pack size.

Example: a product can be scanned as a Unit, a Pack, or a Case (UPC). Each has a different barcode and each barcode can be setup with its pack size.

  • Select a Stock Code from the lookup icon that must be setup with barcode data.

  • The data grid will be visible and the user must capture the following information in the available fields.

    • The Stock Code must be entered in the Stock Code field in the data grid (the same Stock Code selected in the Stock Code field must be entered)

    • The Source will default to CUSTOM, if manually loaded. Otherwise it will state SYSTEM, if the data was imported from SYSPRO

    • In the Alternate Value field the actual barcode of the product or pack of products must be entered, i.e. Product, Pack/UPC or Outer pack

      • There are a number of wildcard options that can also be used. This is useful when your suppler barcode has a number of values within a single barcode. For instance, one supplier could provide barcodes that include their stock code, batch number, and quantity, while another supplier may include their stock code and manufacture date in the barcode. In both cases we want to read the barcode and then look for a specific string within the barcode which denotes the product number. It is this value that will allow us to cross-reference back to the SYSPRO stock code.

      • Select the Show Only Wildcard Entries checkbox to setup the module by using wildcard entries.

      • Single Seq Wildcard Character: add an underscore symbol (“_”) and then the barcode number in the Alternate Value field will <what>

      • Multi Seq Wildcard Character: add an percentage symbol (“%”) and then the barcode number into the Alternate Value field will <what>

      • Minimum re Non Wildcard: 5 - this value.

    • The Conversion will by default be Multiply, but you have the option to change this to Divide (this is dependent how the package Qty’s is configured within SYSPRO)

      • You would normally use Multiply if the UOM in SYSPRO is EA (Each). Example:

        • In SYSPRO you can use difference package quantities to represent items. For example, let's take the stock code for Castle Large beers. Normally, in SYSPRO, the stock code represents each individual beer can. So, if the system shows you have 300 beers, it means you have 300 individual cans of beer.

However, within DATASCOPE WMS’s barcode cross reference, we can associate multiple barcodes with a single stock code. In the case of Castle Large beer, it works like this:

          • The stock code in SYSPRO is B100, which represents a single Castle beer can (each).

          • Each beer can have a unique barcode, different from the one used in SYSPRO. In the barcode cross reference, we specify that the barcode "800938743527" corresponds to one can of beer (B100 represents each).

          • We can also add another barcode for a 6-pack of beer. The barcode "8007352528" is linked to B100, but it represents a pack of 6 cans instead of a single can (B100 represents 6 cans).

          • Similarly, we can add a barcode for a case of beer. The barcode "80363763822" is linked to B100, and it represents a case containing 24 cans (B100 represents 24 cans).

In all these cases, the quantity represented by the barcode is always a multiple of the individual item (each).

      • When using Divide the SYSPRO UOM is Box or Case and the quantity represented by the barcode will be divided.

    • The Factor refer to the number of units involved. A barcode for a single unit will always be 1

    • UOM refer to the Unit of Measure that is visible on the scanner. Example: Each, Unit, Pack, Box, Create, etc.

    • Select Apply

    • A pop-up will appear stating that the WMS Stock Cross Reference table will be updated. If you are certain this is what you want to do, select Yes.
