Work in Progress / Job Return / Job Return - WIP040

Job returns are used when you want to return components, which have already been issued to a job, back into inventory again. This can sometimes happen when stock has been over-issued to a job or not used during the manufacturing process and must then be returned into good usable inventory for another job.

Job Returns are mainly done on the scanner-based screen; however, a pc-based version is also available.

If you don’t like reading, you can watch the video.

Try it!

  • On the Main Menu browse to Work in Progress / Job Return / Job Returns

  • In the Job Number field, you can enter or use the lookup icon to locate the job number

  • The Stock Code and/or Lot number, which has been issued to the Job, will display on the screen, or if more than one, then you can select from the drop-down

  • The Quantity Issued will be displayed automatically

  • The Quantity to Return must be entered

Note: The PC-based Job Return screen has the functionality to fetch the Quantity to Return from a physical scale that has been integrated into DATASCOPE WMS. If configured correctly to a scale, and the Fetch button is used, the scaled mass will be returned to the screen, and the user can edit it accordingly. For more information on this configuration, refer to Scale Integration.

  • Same as the scanner-based screen, the To TrackID field has two functions

    • If you want to return the stock code to an existing TrackID, you must scan the TrackID, which will populate the To TrackID field

    • If you want to return the stock code to a new TrackID, you must leave this field blank. The system will generate a new TrackID in the Default Bin displayed on the screen

  • Select Post. This will transact the return in both SYSPRO and DATASCPOPE WMS and print a TrackID if required

Note: A printer pop-up will ask where you want to print the new TrackID, and the system will automatically return the appropriate stock code and/or lot from off the job onto a new TrackID.

  • When printing to a physical printer, you must ensure that the System Settings is configured correctly

  • The JOBRETURNS setting under Settings / Printers on the Ribbon Bar must point to the physical printer. For more information, refer to Configure Printers
