FUNCTIONALITY OVERVIEW
The Backorder Report has been written to assist the sales and pick slip releasing staff in managing all SYSPRO sales orders currently in back order. The report shows all sales order lines due within the selected date ranges and also shows where we have stock available.
Due to the fact that DATASCOPE WMS will not allow companies to place sales order lines in "ship" during the order take on process (as putting lines in ship locks the stock in SYSPRO), some companies put all their sales orders into back order. This report then helps manage what is a true back order and what just has not been released yet.
The above scenario has been resolved within SYSPRO with the new SYSPRO "In Reserve" function. If SYSPRO is setup to place orders into "In Reserve" then this report may not be needed.Because all sales orders must either be in Backorder or InReserve for DATASCOPE WMS, it can sometimes be difficult to ascertain which lines are valid backorders and are merely awaiting a DATASCOPE WMS Pick Slip to be released.
This report is to help identify where there is insufficient stock on hand to meet the current orders. The report can be filtered quickly using the “Available Stock Filter”. There are three filters – (1) All, (2) Net > 0 and Available > 0 and (3) Net > 0 and Available = 0. The second filter will assist in where the current stock on hand can meet the orders. The third filter will assist by identifying which stock codes are out of stock – the sales team can use this information to advise their customers and the purchasing team to expedite orders for out-of-stock items.

Note: It is suggested that this report be shown to the Procurement Department daily to rectify stock-outs. |
You can select your filter requirements to find the applicable Sales Orders easily. There are three ‘Available Stock Filters’
All - view all
Net > 0 and Available > 0 - to see where the current stock on hand can meet the orders
Net > and Available = 0 - used to identify which stock codes are out of stock
This report will help manage a true back order and what has yet to be released.
It might be that you do not need this report if you are using the SYSPRO ‘In Reserve’ function. If your SYSPRO is set up to place orders into ‘In Reserve’, this report may not be needed.
