Inbound Receipt / Quality Check / Inbound Mass Check [REC030]
DATASCOPE can manage stock codes with inspection requirements in 2 ways, provided the SKU is flagged as inspection required in SYSPRO:
Single stage inspection
Here the full quantity is received into SYSPRO inspection and the full quantity passes inspection. The DATASCOPE TrackID remains ONHOLD until the quality module(s) release the stock, but the TrackID can still be moved into a storage location/bin in the warehouse.
Two stage inspection
In 2 stage inspection, the full quantity is received into SYSPRO inspection and remains there until the quality modules release the stock. Since the stock is not yet in stock in SYSPRO it cannot be bin transferred.
Two inbound Quality check functions are available for items that are flagged as inspection required. One This is a simple pallet mass check where each . Each new pallet of the affected stock code to in receiving in an ONHOLD is put on an ON HOLD status and must then must be placed on a weigh station linked to DATASCOPE WMS to validate the mass. If the mass passes a simply percentage tolerance the pallet becomes ACTIVE and can be moved into the warehouse. The second check is a very simple quality release function. No QC testing is managed here. It is expected that the client has their own QC system and simply wants to move pallets from ONHOLD to ACTIVE when they are happy to release them
If this module is activated, every pallet received is put ON HOLD and will remain ON HOLD until it has been weighed. This is typically used with products with a weight-based UOM (Unit of Measure) like kilograms or pounds. A customer might purchase 10000 pounds from a supplier and receive 10 pallets with 1000 pounds each, but the actual weight of the pallets is not 1000 pounds. One might be 990 pounds, while the other is 1113 pounds. The weight must be fixed immediately after receipt using this module.
There is a larger quality module which that handles tests and criteria at a stock code level - Quality Control

Try it!
The mass check will activate pallets if the pallet mass is within a tolerance of the total theoretical mass calculated. This is particularly important when receiving full pallets of one stock code from a supplier and not unpacking the pallet, but weighing to validate that all the stock is there.
From the Main Menu, browse to Inbound Receipt / Quality Check / Inbound Mass Check
The Inbound Mass Check screen will open.
Enter the TrackID (pallet number) in the TrackID field or use the lookup icon to locate it.
Enter the TrackID Tare
Enter the Packaging 1 Tare and Packaging 2 Tare, if required.
Select the Fetch Mass button, to select the Mass from the scale.
A pop-up will appear if the tolerance is exceeded. The user has the option to override this.
Select Post
This will activate the pallets
A Mass check label can be printed.
Any pallet that fails we need to be negative receipted in SYSPRO, as the inventory has already been received into SYSPRO. The pallet in DATASCOPE can be manually inactivated in this scenario
