The installation process for DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS is done through the System Manager.

The following are essential requirements for installing DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS on a Server with the technical configuration complete to a point where a user can log in to the system.

  1. DATASCOPE WMS System Manager Agent Installer MSI (obtained from your DSP).

  2. Virtual Machine or server running Windows Server 2016 (or higher).

  3. SYSPRO 7/8 installed, configured, and working within the environment.

  4. SYSPRO E.Net WCF Service (or WebServices).

Installing DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS

The next step will be configuring some general settings required to install DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS. This option is used to perform an initial install of the software. If an upgrade must be done, refer to Upgrade to a newer version or port.

At this point, the following must be in place:

  1. System Manager must be installed.

  2. The latest Port must be downloaded.

  3. Servers Roles should be validated.

  4. Software prerequisites must be installed.

  5. The DATASCOPE WMS License file must be uploaded.

  • Open System Manager and select 4. Clean Install.

  • Click Next on all the screens where you already did the Server Role validation and installation of the software prerequisites.

  • If you click Next on the last screen where the License was added, you will start to configure the general settings. This consists of the SQL Server, SYSPRO Server, and WMS Server details.

  • Start by entering the IP address of the server where SQL Server is installed.

    • To ensure you have the correct IP address, you can open Command Prompt on the SQL Server.

    • Enter an ipconfig command. Copy the IPv4 Address and paste it into the SQL Name/IP field.

  • Next, you must enter the SQL Administrator username and password. This must be a SQL SysAdmin account.

    • To confirm this, you can open SQL Server Management Studio 19

    • Log in with the Administrator username and password to ensure it is the correct username and password.

Note: It is a good idea always first to confirm your SQL and SYSPRO login details using the correct username and password before entering it here. If you are not using the correct username and password, you must go through the process again.

  • The next step is to enter the SYSPRO Name/IP address. This might be the same as the SQL Server Name/IP address, but if it is a different server, add the correct IP address.

  • Select the correct Integration method. WCF vs. WebServices

  • Ensure the Port is set to the correct Port Number. This is located under Services / SYSPRO 8 e.net Communication Load Balancer. If you do not update this port number, you will get an error later in the process.

  • The <port number> (example: 31001) visible on this Service is the one that must be used.

  • Lastly, you can enter the IP address of the WMS Server.

Note: For all the Server name/IP fields, you can enter the name or the IP address.

  • Select Next.

  • The following screen will appear: Core Service Account. This is the details for the account used to run the WebAPI and Core Services DATASCOPE WMS Services on the new Server.

  • If no domain is registered, you can select No Domain

  • Enter the Username and password of the Local Administrator account used to login into the WMS Server. This account will run the WebAPI and Core Services / DATASCOPE WMS Services on the new Server. It is advised to use a local administrator account to ensure it works correctly.

    • To confirm this, you can Lock and unlock the screen. (select CTRL + ALT + Delete)

    • It will be the same Username and password you will enter to unlock the screen.

  • Select Verify Credentials to ensure it is correct.

  • In the next screen, enter the Admin SYSPRO Operator username and password. This is required to validate that the SYSPRO E.Net setup is working. This process will do an E.Net login call to the SYSPRO E.Net Business Objects, ensuring all is in working order.

  • Enter the applicable Company.

  • The next step is where the new databases will be created.

  • Select the tick box next to the WMS Company. A pop-up will appear asking whether a new WMS database must be created.

  • Enter the database name. For example: WarehouseCompanyEDU1

  • The SYSPRO databases should already exist. Select the selected Company’s SYSPRO database.

  • Select the All Warehouses tick box.

  • If you want to create and configure a second database for a second Company (i.e., one for PROD and one for TEST) you can do it on the second screen.

  • Select Next to continue.

  • Select the version and port that was pre-downloaded.

Note: If you choose a version or port that hasn't been previously downloaded, an error message will appear.

  • Select Next, and it will extract to the file system.

  • Let the installation complete.

  • During the upgrade process, all the applicable steps must be updated with a green tick mark.

  • On the next screen you can enter the initial SYSPRO Admin Operator username. Nothing else needs to change on this screen.

  • The system will set up all the initial settings required for a new installation.

  • If you are not doing a clean installation, you might have a Settings file saved. It can then be imported on this screen by uploading the file and select the Import System Settings button.
