Managing Job Pick slips becomes paramount in a Manufacturing plant using DATASCOPE WMS and SYSPRO Job Cards. Some manufacturing jobs involve stock codes spanning multiple pallets, later blended to produce the final product. To maintain precision and avoid any mix-ups, this screen allows the generation of Job Pick slips linked to more than one TrackID (pallet), facilitating the organized movement of stock codes applicable to specific Job cards.

This screen creates a new picking TrackID for a pick slip.

Note: It does not reprint an existing TrackID, but creates a new one.

This is primarily used by sites using the Factory Management Module. When performing scanner-based picking, TrackIDs are printed before picking, however, it needs to be considered how many labels are required. This screen allows Operators to print additional TrackIDs to scan stock as they pick.

Note: It is advised that this screen only be used by an Administrator.

  • Enter or locate using the lookup icon the Job or Sales Order number in the Job or Sales Order fields

  • Select the applicable Warehouse

  • Select the applicable Zone (this is an optional field)

  • Select the linked Pick Slip from the Pick Slip drop-down. If this field is blank, the pick slip is already in a COMPLETE or CANCEL state, or the Sales Order/Job has no pick slip). A Pick Slip must first be created for the Job or Sales Order.

If no Pick Slip exist, you can create one - refer to Sales Order Release (Single) Ensure a Picking Bin is also created for the Pick Slip. The setting for a Manual Bin must be configured.

  • Select the No of TrackIDs and No of Copies.

  • Select Print

  • If a pop-up message appear, stating, BOX_PICKING_REQUIRED must be enabled for this warehouse to use this screen, then a Warehouse Setting must be updated. Refer to TECHNICAL.

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • This will create a TrackID with box numbers (i.e. in the same format as Picking to Box – PKnumber+WH+Zone+B#) therefore, it is not advised to use this if Pick to Picking slip is being used.

  • Selecting the warehouse will determine to which warehouse and picking bin location the picked product is moved. It is, therefore, possible to open a Picking Track ID in another warehouse and as you pick onto this TrackID, the components/ingredients stock will be transferred to the new warehouse.

TECHNICAL

  • A Warehouse Setting is also required, as Box Picking is required for this screen. On the Ribbon Bar, select Settings / Warehouse Settings. Select the applicable Warehouse and search for the DISPATCH System Name. Update the BOX_PICKING_REQUIRED SettingValue to Y(es). Select Apply.

  • Within DATASCOPE PREMIUM there are typically two options for picking. 1) Default Bin (where all the stock gets moved into when picking the stock) 2) Manual Bin (a Bin will be created per Pick Slip for the picked stock to go into) The following settings apply for each:

    1. Default Bin - On the Ribbon Bar browse to Settings / System Settings / DISPATCH / DEFAULT_BIN and add the default Bin name in the SettingValue field

    2. Manual Bin - On the Ribbon Bar browse to Setting / System Settings / GENERAL / PICK_BIN_EQUAL_TO_PICKING_SLIP_NUMBER and update the SettingValue to Y(es). For this option the pick slip must already be assigned to an Operator, otherwise the Bin will not exist. This Bin, however, needs to exist so that Picking TrackID can be created.

  • Please ensure the appropriate .rpt label format is configured to print these carton labels. To add a .rpt format, browse to Settings / System Settings / PICKING_PALLET_LABELING. The SettingName JOB_TEMPLATE and SALES_ORDER_TEMPLATE must have the appropriate SettingValue. For the JOB_TEMPLATE = DATASCOPE_TRACKID_JOB_4X2.5.rpt, and for the SALES_ORDER_TEMPLATE = DATASCOPE_TRACKID_SALES_4X2.5.rpt.

  • You must ensure the System Settings are configured correctly when printing to a physical printer. The PICKING_PALLET_LABELING setting under Settings / Printers on the Ribbon Bar must point to the physical printer. For more information, refer to Configure Printers.
