The System Manager tool is used for several maintenance tasks for DATASCOPE WMS and is a key application that is always required on the DATASCOPE WMS Server. This is the first application that will be installed on the server, prior even to installing DATACOPE WMS. As a like-for-like comparison, this application is very similar to the SYSPRO Deployment tool. The installation process is relatively simple, and it is done in the form of an Agent MSI installer. The Agent is simply a small application that is installed first; this application then downloads and installs the System Manager and, after that keeps it up to date.

Technical detail on the System Manager Agent.

Filename

DATASCOPE WMS System Manager Agent.MSI

C:\Program Files (x86)\DATASCOPE\DATASCOPE WMS Agent

Additional

A shortcut called “DATASCOPE WMS System Manager” will be installed on the Desktop of the Server.

Once the System Manager Agent is executed from the shortcut, it will automatically validate and download the SystemManager.MSI file.

Communication

The Agent will make an FTP call to the following address to validate the Version and/or download the SystemManager.MSI file.

dsdev01.southafricanorth.cloudapp.azure.com (port 21)

Should there be no System Manager installed or there is a new version it will be downloaded from the above FTP Site to the below local directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\DATASCOPE\DATASCOPE WMS Agent\

Once downloaded the MSI will be automatically Uninstalled/Installed, and the new System Manager will be executed.
