REPORT DESCRIPTION
This report is used in preparation for stock take, and particularly if a closed stock take (i.e. one where pallets are not opened) is planned. The basis of the report is to show every pallet that will have to be stock counted and when it was last cycle counted or stock counted, as well as showing the last transaction on the pallet
The concept is that if the last movement on a pallet was a cycle count, or if the pallet quantity now matches the original pallet quantity, then the pallet quantity is accurate. This means the pallet can be wrapped up and counted in a ‘closed pallet stock take’ to simply confirm it is in the recorded bin and not have to open up and recount all the stock on the pallets. Closed pallet stock takes are significantly faster than open pallet stock takes for this reason, but usually only possible on slower moving stock or stock in bulk bins.
Further to the above, a warehouse manager may pre-cycle count a lot of his slow moving stock before the actual stock count weekend. This way the last transaction on the Tracking ID will be a cycle count and therefore these pallets can be counted as "closed" pallets during the stock count. Again drastically speeding up the stock take weekend.
