New Shipper [SHP012]

Shippers are typically the different shipping agents you have engaged with to do your dispatching.

  • Create your first Shipper by adding a name in the Name field, for example XPO Logistics

  • Populate all the contact details

  • Click the Active checkbox to indicate this is an Active Shipper

  • To add the Shipper Waybill/BOL number to the Waybill/BOL, the Manual Waybill/BOL Allowed tick box must be selected. The WMS will then enforce that a number be added when creating a new Waybill/BOL. By default, WMS will also generate a Waybill number

If a customer use 3rd party shipping software that generates Waybill/BOL numbers independently, the option exists to manually enter those numbers into WMS and use them as the DATASCOPE WMS Waybill number. You will be forced to update the Shipper Waybill/BOL field on the Waybill/BOL Maintenance screen if the Manual Waybill/BOL Allowed tick box has been selected.

  • Next, you must link a Waybill Label template to the Shipper. Instead of using the default Waybill/BOL and Shipping TrackID templates configured under Warehouse Settings, you can define specific templates per Shipper.

  • Select the Default Waybill/BOL Template. From the drop-down, select DATASCOPE_SHIPPING_WAYBILL_SUMMARY_LETTER.rpt

  • A Shipping TrackID label must also be linked to a Shipper. Select the Default Label Template. From the drop-down, select DATASCOPE_SHIPPING_TRACKID_4x6.rpt. This is the default label template that will print for any shipments going with this specific Shipper

  • These templates will print for any shipments going with the specific Shipper.

  • Update the No. Waybill/BOL To Print field to one or more. Depending on how many Waybills you want to print for this specific Shipper

  • Select Save to save your first Shipper
