Tote Trolley Labeling [LAB007]
These Tote labels have a similar concept as TrackIDs, which allows us to scan stock that must be moved and then track it when it is in transit (placed on a trolley/forklift/carrier) - it will be scanned onto a trolley/forklift/carrier, using a temporary label, and then be scanned off at the other end, into the new location.
When using the Fetch and put-away option on the Pickface Replenishment HTML5 scanner screen for replenishment, the user would typically be moving stock between a bulk warehouse and a pickface warehouse, so will therefore perform a two-stage process of
fetching the supplying stock onto a carrier pallet and then
putting it away into the pickface bin as a second transaction.
The user will require a temporary carrier label for the first stage to carry the required stock code from bulk to the pickface location. This carrier label would typically be placed on the empty carrier pallet, which will be used to fetch the stock code from bulk.
Typically, sites running Tote Driven Distribution centers and Distribution centers with area-based picking, place items into Totes as they are picked. The Totes are assigned a unique Tote Label, with a Tote number and bar code that are attached to the Tote.
Add any numeric number in the From field as your label number/ID; this will print on the label (if you wish to reprint an existing Tote label, you can use the lookup icon to search for an existing Tote Label).
Add a Description in the Description for the label field to be used as a reference. A good example would be REPLEN Pallet (or click the radio button to make the description the same as the Tote number/ID. When using Range the system creates the descriptions the same as tote number.)
Select a Bin from the Bin lookup table.
Note: A bin must be set up to be used as a temporary carrier that can be linked to the carrier pallet. A good example would be REPLEN, however, with the default FASTTRACK WMS install you get two pre-configured Bins, namely PICK (pick face) and RECV (Receiving) For more information on how to create Bins refer to Create Single Bin and Create Multiple Bins
Select TOTE as the type of label
Select Create Label to print the label
Select your physical label printer.
Print the label out on your label printer and attach it to the empty carrier pallet.
SPECIAL FEATURES
If the labels have been printed before, i.e. the tote number already exists in the database, a pop up will appear, to allow the reprint of existing totes, or the unticking of totes that do not need to be reprinted.
Totes/carriers are created in ONHOLD status. The Pick Face replenishment application can work with this status, but the user will not be able to use TrackID Consolidate or Put-Away Consolidation when moving stock onto or off of this tote/trolley pallet.
TECHNICAL
When printing to a physical printer you must ensure that the System Settings is configured correctly. The TOTE_LABELING setting under Settings / Printers on the Ribbon Bar must point to the physical printer. For more information refer to Configure Printers
DATASCOPE_TOTE_4x2.5 is the Crystal report template used for this Tote Label. To update this template go to System Settings / TOTE_LABELING / BARRELLABEL
