Inventory On-Hold Control (Warehouse Setup) [OBS019]
The unique functionality of this module is its ability to control the placing of products on and off hold at a TrackID level, a feature not available in SYSPRO. In SYSPRO, only a stock code or specific Lot number can be put On Hold, locking them throughout the system and disallowing stock movement. This would typically only be used if an item has reached the End of Life. Similarly, putting a Lot number On Hold might be beneficial, especially in the food industry, but it will still be locked throughout the system.
Therefore, this Inventory On Hold module is used to place a specific pallet or a range of pallets on hold regardless of the stock code or Lot number on the pallet. This is useful for various reasons. For example, three pallets in a warehouse may have quality problems (e.g., due to milk spillage), which a QC Manager needs to resolve before being moved or sold.
This module works over and above the usual Inspection process, which DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS caters to with inspectable items in SYSPRO. For instance, if stock is flagged as Inspection Required in SYSPRO, pallets of any stock codes that are receipted into the system will automatically be ON HOLD until released through the usual Quality Control module. Therefore, this Inventory On Hold module is used after the initial quality checks (via the Quality Control module) have passed and the TrackIDs are ACTIVE in the warehouse.
Notice the various filter options on the left-hand side. More than one filter option can be used at the same time.
Let us filter by stock code. Enter the stock code number in the Stock Code filter field.
Select Load to Grid at the bottom of the filter screen. This will load the applicable records to the data grid.
The TrackIDs can be sorted using the standard data grid controls. For example, sort the Bin column to put all the Receiving Bin stock On Hold.
Select the affected TrackID by selecting the checkbox in the Select column.
Select the On Hold Reason code from the New On-Hold Reason drop-down at the top of the screen.
Select the Update button in the top right-hand corner.
This will put the selected TrackIDs in an ONHOLD status, and the reason code chosen will be added.
A pop-up message will appear stating the pallets have been put On Hold.
To remove an On Hold Flag:
Use the Filters on the left-hand side to locate the TrackIDs.
Select the Load to Grid button at the bottom of the Filter screen to load the data grid.
Select the applicable pallet to be placed Off Hold by selecting the checkbox in the Select column.
Select the Remove from HOLD checkbox at the top of the screen.
A pop-up will appear, warning the user that this Off Hold process does NOT affect the Inspection process in SYSPRO (the Quality Control module must be used for this)
This transaction only updates the TrackIDs to ACTIVE again and logs the reason in the TrackID History report.
Select the Update button in the top right-hand corner again to complete the transaction.
