Job Labeling [WIP031]
This module allows you to setup a number of different label templates that can be printed from a central location before a job card is released to the floor.
This is helpful when the manufacturing plant have multiple systems in various planning departments that create product, carton and pallet barcoded labels for each manufactured job that is released on the floor.
These labels are not TrackIDs and do not affect any inventory holding records. It is only identification labels that can be applied to stock during the manufacturing process. It’s generally used to print standard carton labels that are packed with the Job’s SYSPRO factory documentation and then handed over to the floor staff. The operators will then place these carton labels on every finished product’s carton as it is filled.
These carton labels works well, as the Job number, parent stock code and description can be printed on the label, including a standard pack size (Pan size) Any of the fields can be set as a barcode on the label and when these pallets move through a central Job receiving area these barcodes can be used to drive the DATASCOPE WMS Job Receipt process. This is where the Job receipt is processed and the pallet label (TrackID) is printed.
Enter a confirmed or unconfirmed SYSPRO job numbers in the Job Number field or use the lookup icon to search for a job number.
Tabbing of the Job Number field, after entering or selecting a job number, the Parent Stock Code, Job Description, and Qty to Make will automatically appear.
Underneath Qty to Make twelve user defined fields is visible. These fields can be used to enter any free formatted data that will also print on the job label. For example, the user can manually enter the customer’s name for the job or any special instructions to the production team.
These user defined fields must first be labeled under System Settings.
On the Ribbon Bar, browse to Settings / System Settings and locate the JOB LABELING setting name. You will notice the twelve SAMPLE_NOTATIONTEXT fields.
The default SettingValue fields are empty, you can enter the required field label in each field, for example, Customer Name.
Select Apply to save your changes.
The newly added field can now be used to add the, for example, Customer Name for the selected Job Number.
The remaining fields work the same. It is advised to add all required fields under System Settings before opening the Job Labeling module.
Note: If additional field labels are added after the Job Labeling screen is opened, you will have to close and open the screen first to see the additional fields added.
The No. of Labels are used to specify how many of the same label are required to be printed.
Note: This Job Label is not a uniquely numbered TrackID label, therefore the number of labels you generate is not important.
The Qty on Each will default to the Pallet quantity in SYSPRO for the parent stock code in the warehouse of that job.
