Labeling all Inventory in preparation for your Go Live

Labeling all inventory is usually done before going live with your system. The software should be installed and configured, and you will need to make the physical preparations in your warehouse to GO LIVE.

One of the key actions that must still happen before you can go live is to perform a wall-to-wall stock count in the warehouse or warehouses you will be running the software.

If you'd like more information on Stock Take, refer to Stock Taking.

In preparation for this stock count, every bin location within your warehouse or warehouses must be labeled with a WMS-generated bin label. Every pallet must also be labeled with a WMS-generated pallet label.

The TrackID Creation and TrackID Creation Advanced modules (pc-based) should be used for this action. TrackID Creation can also be done on the HTML5 scanner - this is the simplest way to create pallet labels

WARNING - Generating TrackID with these two modules only adds stock to DATASCOPE WMS and NOT SYSPRO. Therefore, it can cause an imbalance on your Balance Report, as stock only gets generated in DATASCOPE WMS, not SYSPRO. Consequently, it would be best if you only used this module before you Go Live with your system to label all your stock with WMS labels. If you want to add stock to SYSPRO while labeling the stock with a WMS label, use the PO Receipt or Job Receipt modules.

Your go-live will involve a wall-to-wall stock take. In preparation for this, you will need to place a TrackID label on every countable entity (e.g., pallet, drum, roll etc.)

This step requires quite a bit of work. You can start this labeling process weeks in advance of your go-live.

The TrackID Creation and TrackID Creation Advanced screens are used for this process.
