The Operator can print out a wheel of labels prior to picking and pre-label the boxes he will be picking into which can be used for shipping. This means that we can pick pallets for shipping without having to repack them in the checkout area. A simple scanner or mass check could be used to check the product before invoicing. This method allows the user to capture the carton name, which will determine the size of the box, including the dims and mass. Try it!
To start following this approach, open the Sales Pick to TrackID mobile screen.
The Slips TAB gives a list of all the assigned pick slips to the logged-in user.
Select the pick slip that you want to pick and then select Next to go to the next TAB.
If the Warehouse Setting has been activated to print the Picking TrackID before picking, then the user will notice a Print Tab from where the labels can be printed.
The Operator can now select the type of box/carton label that must be printed, including how many labels.
Select Print
The Picking Pallet label(s) will print. (ensure the .rpt template has been configured - https://datascopewms.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UG/pages/207421447/Labeling+required+for+Pick+to+TrackID#Configure-the-.rpt-templates-for-labeling-variations. )
The Items TAB will open which will give you a summary of all the Bins, Tracking IDs, stock codes, and Qty that are on the pick slip. You can also see in the Scanned column how many you have scanned to date. This is all for information purposes.
Select an item that you want to pick and select Next to go to the Pick TAB
The Pick TAB will open. This is the main picking screen that explains what Sugg Tracking ID, stock code, and quantity the picker must fetch. In the blue section, the picker can see the stock code and description of the item. It also indicates whether it is a Lot traceable item or not.
The picker will then physically go to the Sugg Bin and scan the TrackID; you can also type it into the TrackID field. If you TAB off the field the rest of the fields will auto-populate.

Note: There are various warehouse settings that can be set around this screen, for example, the Stock Code, Lot, and QTY auto-populate. For more information on these settings, refer to Picking Customizations. |
The picker will see at the top of the screen what the Qty is that must be picked, and this must be updated in the Quantity field.
For this labeling and picking approach the To TrackID field cannot auto-populate as the Picking TrackIDs were printed before picking, and the Operator must scan the printed picking TrackID of the box he will be placing the stock into.
Info |
---|
Note: Ensure the To TrackID field cannot auto-populate by updating the Warehouse Setting AUTOPOPULATE_PICKING_PALLET to N(o). |
When entering or scanning the Picking TrackID it must be in the format Pickslip+WH+Box. For example: 1144+FG+B2.
Select Post to indicate that the item has been picked. The screen will automatically load the next item on the pick slip to be picked.
The stock will then move from the Sugg TrackID to the Picking TrackID.
If the Operator needs to print more Picking TrackIDs, he can go back to the Print Tab at any point and enter more quantities in the desired box type field to be printed. An indication of how many Picking TrackIDs have already been printed will be visible next to the box type field.
On the Confirm tab a summary of all the items that have been picked will be visible.
The Operator can then go back to the Under and Over tabs, depending on the how the system settings has been configured. For more information, refer to Picking Customization.
If satisfied with the pick, select Confirm. The software will then complete the pick and update the status of the pick slip to PICKED.
You can go back to your Pick Slip Review screen. Right-click on your order and View the Reservations. The Picked Qty column will be updated, and a Picking TrackID will be added (which consists of the Picking TrackID plus the warehouse code plus Box number) which is a system-generated ID. The software will automatically move the stock from the picking Bin to the Picking TrackID.
Typically, warehouses will move this to a Shipping TrackID to distribute the stock via the Shipping Module or alternatively do a final mass check or MSN final invoice post. (No Pack station checkout or MSN Grocery Pack checkout as the stock is already in boxes)For more information on checkout options, refer to Checkout.
