Job Release [WIP003]

Job Release [WIP003]

The Job Release screen generates Job Pick Slips for SYSPRO Job Cards allocated for a job material requirement.

You will learn how to pick and release components within WMS for a SYSPRO Job Card allocated for a job material requirement. The process includes allocating the job material requirements and releasing a job picking slip or slips to have the material picked.

  • For WMS to assist with picking components, the Jobs must be created and confirmed in SYSPRO.  FASTTRACK WMS can only reserve and pick jobs that are non-kit issued. Therefore, the Kit issued status must be equal to No within SYSPRO. DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS, however, can support kit-issued jobs.

  • Start by verifying the SYSPRO Job in SYSPRO - Verify SYSPRO Job

  • Next, you can locate the Job number by typing it in the Job field in WMS

  • The detail of the job header will be displayed in the screen's top section, and the components and their required Qty will be displayed on the data grid in red text

  • Components that are greyed out are already on a pick slip or are kit-issued and, therefore, cannot be reserved from WMS. For more information, refer to Verify SYSPRO Jobs.

  • There are two ways to reserve TrackIDs:

    • Manually reserve TrackIDs for each component

      • Locate the stock code that you want to reserve

      • Look for the Reserve link by scrolling to the far right of the data grid

      • This will open the Reserve Tracking ID pop-up window, where you will see all the available TrackIDs and Qtys in the warehouse that match the warehouse of that component on the Job.

      • TrackIDs in the grey text are still in Receiving Bins and, therefore, unavailable for picking.

      • The On Hold column will display the On Hold Reason codes (as per the Inventory On-Hold Control (Warehouse Setup) [OBS019] module) for all TrackIDs on Hold.

      • Click on the Reserve checkbox to automatically reserve the required Qty, which is visible at the top of the pop-up screen from the TrackID selected.

      • You can also edit the Qty manually if required

      • When completed with your manual selections, you can select the Reserve button at the bottom of the screen

      • The line will turn green if completely satisfied with the Reserve

      • The End Reservation button in the bottom right corner will save your work but not print a pick slip. This gives you the option to go back to the screen and make changes until you are ready to print the pick slip

    • Auto-reserve button

      • The Auto-Reserve button is located at the top right corner of the data grid.

      • If you click the Auto Reserve button, all existing manual reservations you made will be cleared, and the software will automatically allocate available stock

      • Once completed, the screen will refresh, and all lines that are 100% reserved will turn green

      • You also have the option to clear your current reservation by selecting the Clear Reservation button

  • Once ready, you can print the Job pick slip

    • Select the Confirm button in the bottom right corner of the screen

    • A printer pop-up will appear, asking you to which printer you want to print to.

    • Once you have selected the printer, a second pop-up will appear, giving you the Pick Slip number

    • A second pop-up will appear asking you whether you want to pre-print Picking TrackID labels

Note: These labels are not used in the FASTTRACK WMS implementation, so you must select No.

  • Once the pick slip has been printed, you will also be able to view the pick slip on the Pick Slip Review screen.

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • FASTTRACK WMS can only reserve and pick jobs that are non-kit issued. DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS can, however, reserve and pick kit-issued jobs.

TECHNICAL

  • To print the Job Pick Slip, ensure the System Settings are configured correctly. The JOB_PICKING setting under Settings/Printers must point to a physical printer.

  • If a component is flagged as a Kit Issue Item, it must optionally be printed on a Job pick slip with other non-kit issued components from the same warehouse, and the System Setting must be updated. From the Ribbon bar, browse to System / System Settings and locate the DISPATCH System Name. Locate the PRINT_KIT_ISSUE_ITEMS setting value and update it to Y(es)

  • For Jobs with only kit-issued items and no manually issued items (non-kit issued), a DATASCOPE WMS pick slip can be printed. These pick slips will not be assigned to be picked on the scanner and will immediately have a status of COMPLETED. It is only printed for documentation purposes to assist warehouse staff. A System Setting must be updated. From the Ribbon bar, browse to System / System Settings and locate the PICKING_JOB_ALLOCATION System Name. Locate the PRINT_KIT_ISSUE_ONLY_PICKSLIP setting value and update it to Y(es)

  • To indicate whether the unavailable raw material (stock code) can be replaced with ONLY alternative raw material (stock code) or with any other material (stock code) a System Setting must be configured. From the Ribbon bar, browse to Settings / System Settings and locate the PICKING_JOB_ALLOCATION System Setting. Locate the REPLACE_STOCK_OPTIONS SettingName and ensure the SettingValue is = Alternative. A drop-down with the alternate stock codes will display. If this is set to All, then any other material (stock code) can be used as the replacement material. A stock code lookup will display.
