Delete an Area
Warehouse Setup / Area Zone Maintenance / Areas - Areas [WHS001]
Areas are used to identify or store specific material handling types (for example, toxic products must be stored on their own) within the warehouse. Areas are also used to streamline picking by reducing user input in certain areas where the pick qty can be automatically populated, or the user picking style can be pre-empted. Areas allow the user to demarcate warehouse sections that operators would pick differently.
Areas are not to be confused with Zones in a warehouse. Zones are setup to drive the put away process to pack stock in logical places. It is possible that the areas setup are the same as the zones but they are completely independent of each other
After your FASTTRACK WMS installation, you will have two default areas already created for you.
The two default areas created are:
PICK (Picking)
RECV (Receiving)
Redundant or incorrect Areas can however be deleted if required.

Try it!
To delete an Area you must browse to the Areas screen, located on the Main Menu under WMS Menu / Warehouse Setup / Area Zone Maintenance / Areas.
The Area window will open with a list of already created Areas.
Select the row (with the Area) that you want to delete. Ensure you select the entire row and not just a cell within the row.
Select the Delete key on your keyboard.
Select Yes on the pop-up message.
If you didn’t select the entire row, but only a cell you will notice the following message.
