SYSPRO and Stock Take and Cycle Counting / Stock Taking / Stock Taking [STK001]

Stock Take is the action to optimize your stock take (inventory) count accuracy and reduce the overall counting time. It ensures that all physical quantities match the DATASCOPE WMS and SYSPRO quantities.

If you do a stock take for the first time, as part of going live with the software, two prerequisites must be in place:

  • All Bin locations must have been re-labeled with DATASCOPE WMS Bin number labels.

  • All physical pallets must have a DATASCOPE WMS TrackID label attached to them.

Once stock take has taken place in the warehouse, you must tell users that NO physical inventory movements and systematic inventory transactions should be processed from the moment the stock count is opened until all is confirmed and completed.

Try it!

Start the stock take process by taking a snapshot of the current quantities within SYSPRO. You can either use the Start SYSPRO stock take button on the Stock Taking screen in DATASCOPE WMS or work through SYSPRO.

  • Open DATASCOPE WMS and browse to Stock Take and Cycle Counting / Stock Taking / Stock Taking

  • The Stock Taking screen will open.

  • Select the Warehouse, from the Warehouse drop-down, in which you want to do the stock take

  • Select the Start SYSPRO Stock Take button. This will take you into SYSPRO Stock Take Selection.

OR

  • Open SYSPRO

  • On the SYSPRO Programs list browse to Inventory / Stock Take System / Transaction Processing / Stock Take Selection

  • The Stock Take Selection screen will open

  • Select the warehouse in which you will be doing the counting by selecting the lookup icon

  • All other fields can be left on the default settings

  • Click on Start Processing at the top of the Stock Take Selection screen

  • This action takes a snapshot of the current quantities in the SYSPRO file and the SYSPRO stock take has started. Next, you can Start the full WMS Stock take - Start DATASCOPE WMS stock take

  • DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS also have the functionality to do a stock take for a range of bins only. For more information on the Stock Take by Bin module, refer to Stock Take by Bin
