Once you have successfully received some inventory from a purchase order, you will want to scan the product away to a storage bin location.

The Put Away system directs any newly received inventory to the bulk or pick face locations. Several put-away rules can be applied. First, the Put Away Report (we use the Information Check screen) must be reviewed to see all the pallets that must be put away.

Once reviewed, this module must be used to move inventory into the warehouse/factory.

  • From the Put Away HTML 5 scanner-based screen you can only put away pallets with single stock codes on them.

Note: The reason for only putting away single stock code pallets is that some pallets might have more than one stock code on them that must go to different areas within the warehouse. These pallets must then first be separated before you can put them away. If you do scan such a pallet, you will get an error message stating you must follow the Put Away Consolidate process. For more information, refer to the Scanner-based TrackID Consolidation.

  • Scan or type a TrackID with a single stock code on it

  • The window will load automatically with the Suggested Bin Location, Pickface Bin, and Total Mass

  • The Suggested Bin Location refers to the next open bin location in the warehouse for the pallet that was scanned

  • The Wh Default Bin (Zone) populates from the SYSPRO default bin field against that specific stock code on that tracking ID in the warehouse you have scanned

Note: This can be used as the Zone. If you select the Put-Away button, it will pull through to SYSPRO as the Zone.

  • The Pick face bin field is the location of the Pick face Bin under which that stock code is configured against. The Area where the pick face is located is also displayed next to the Pick face bin field. You can view the pick face configuration under Main Menu / Warehouse Setup / Pickface Maintenance / Pickface Management Report. For more information, refer to Pickface Setup

  • The Total Mass is the SYSPRO mass field multiplied by the total quantity

  • Type in or scan the To Bin location into which you want to put away the stock

Note: The user is not forced to use the Suggested Bin location. Another Bin location can be added if required. The Suggested Bin location shows the next open Bin location.

  • Select the Put Away button

  • The system does a Bin transfer of that specific item

  • To review this Bin transfer, you can go back to the Information Check PC-screen.
