The General Labeling screen can be used for printing and generating any form of barcode label required to label items in a warehouse.

This module does NOT create unique TrackID labels but is a Labeling tool you can use anytime to produce barcoded labels for stock items that may be missing a label.

  • Start by selecting a Label Format

  • There are two label formats configured by default:

    4x4 label (DATASCOPE_GENERAL_LABEL_4X4)

    4x2.5 label (DATASCOPE_GENERAL_ARTICLE_LABEL_4X2.5)

  • Select your Warehouse and Stock code you wish to print a label for

  • The Description and Long Description will populate automatically on the screen

  • Select a Lot number if the item is lot traceable. You can select any lot number from the list which is available for the selected stock code

  • The following SYSPRO detail will also display automatically for information purposes:

    • Stock Unit of Measure

    • Alternative Unit of Measure

    • Mass

  • The Customer Stock Code field is a free format text field where you can enter your customer stock code, if applicable

  • There are six customizable fields that you can rename to anything you want. Select the Additional Info Tab to update these fields.

  • To rename these customizable fields, you must go to System Settings:

    • On the Ribbon Bar, select Settings / System Settings

    • Search for LABELING from the System Name drop-down

    • Search for SAMPLE_NOTATIONTEXT1 through to SAMPLE_NOTIFICATIONTEXT12. Their default SettingValue is “Custom Text”, but you can edit this to your desired name

    • These names will then also print on your label

    • Select Apply after you made your changes and close the System Settings screen

Note: By default, only the first five custom fields will print on the label, however you can edit the Crystal Report to allow it to print all twelve if necessary.

  • Select Print

  • The Printer pop-up will appear for you to select your printer

  • Ensure the printer Name points to a physical printer.

Note: You also have the option to print more than one copy of the label

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • There are twelve fields available for the user to enter text or for data to be pulled through from a custom form field.

  • If this field is set to a value prefixed with “CFF_”, DATASCOPE WMS will return the custom form filed with the specified field name to the screen for the stock code selected.

  • The printer can be defaulted to the warehouse selected in the top right hand corner, or a pop-up selection can appear as the user clicks print (see printer setup)
