Sales order Release

A simple sales order release function allows your warehouse controller the ability to review specific orders for release. Here the order lines can be released individually or as a group. In this releasing process, the software applies the specific stock reservation rules as designed for your company. These rules allow you to calculate the most optimal stock to be picked for this order. For instance, when releasing an order line, we may want to first find full pallets in the warehouse and then allocate full cartons from a breakbulk area and lastly, we may want to reserve loose units from a pick face area. The reservation rule is written to apply this logic.

This PC-based review screen allows a controller to select specific sales orders or jobs for review and release. The screen makes use of the advanced Auto Allocation logic, which will automatically apply a set of algorithms to determine the most optimal stock to be picked. A number of nice features exist on this screen, such as the replace function, where a user can simply replace a stock code with an alternative product if the ordered stock item is out of stock . Another feature allows the user to reserve stock for an order manually. this is needed in environments such as where a customer requires a product to come from a single lot number or where the warehouse controller specifically wants the stock for this order to come from selected pallets. Comments can also be added to the order. These comments show on various picking and checkout documentation and screens.

Over twelve different reservation rules exist within DATASCOPE, as well as functionality for custom rules to be developed by consultants. All are settings based and user configurable. A simple rule to reserve stock from the pickface first and then bulk is recommended.  Manual reservation for particular cases is allowed, and over-reservation of pickface bins (but not of all stock in the Warehouse) can be enabled.
