Sequenced picking (Consolidated picking)
This mode works for many other picking strategies, not just the Sales Pick to Pick Slip option. Typically, a picker can be assigned several pick slips for different customers but with the same stock codes (products) on each. The picking screen then directs the picker through the warehouse in a single wave, but the screen jumps between the pick slip lines in the order of the picker movement. The picker will have completed all assigned pick slips by the time they end their picking cycle. This works well with picking cards with levels or “pigeonholes” where each pick slip is placed.
A system setting change can make this possible.
On the Ribbon Bar, browse Settings / Warehouse Settings and select the applicable warehouse from the drop-down. Under the DISPATCH system name, locate the CONSOLIDATED_SEQUENCING setting. Update the value to Y(es). If set to Y(es), the software will load all pick slips for the same bin location to prevent the user from walking the same aisle multiple times.
It is advised not to use consolidated picking with bulk picking.
